We’ve been here before pre covid and it was ok but now they just seem to have given up. The only thing this place has going for it is it’s location. They say they are no smoking however they allow people (including their staff) to smoke in the inside bit between the outside and inside doors so you get a blast of acrid cigarette smoke every so often and pretty much always when you leave. The food is greasy, and they manage to overcook food and make it look undercooked at the same time. It’s a dirty place - the ancient stuffed fox says it all really. Once when we received an orange juice in a filthy glass we complained the waiter took it back to the barman who the proceeded to tip it out of the dirty glass into another and sent it back to us. Some of the servers are friendly enough some downright rude and abrupt Avoid…
Excellent location , very warm place perfect for winter sport lovers. Unfortunately very outdated rooms with not comfortable beds, outdated shower cabin with drainage problem. Helpful staff however cleaning not that detailed. Conveniently the restaurant downstairs works also up to 11 pm. Food choice limited some of the dishes are very nice even pricey for local standards
My wife and I stayed at the Spider House for a week in February. I want to start with the positive - this hotel is probably the best placed hotel in the whole resort - it is right on the slopes with the studenets ski lift just 100 metres away. It has its own restaurant and bar, it has its own ski school and rental shop and all the rest of the shops bars and restaurants are close by - fantastic! It is very definitely a ski to door hotel. But then we come to the not so good. The studio apartment we were in was awful, it is so small that one side of the bed was pushed up against the wall - I haven't slept in a bed like that since I was a little boy 55 years ago! There is a kitchenette with a hot plate for cooking small snacks or meals - but there are no pots or pans in which to cook - what is the point, they would be better to get rid of the useless kitchenette and put the bed on that wall with access from both sides. The amenities are non-existent, there is no spa, there is no pool, there is no sauna - other hotels in the resort have these and they are considerably cheaper. Then we come to the wifi! They claim to offer free wifi, but it is completely unusable - I couldn't even send or receive what'sapp messages, much less use the internet or address my emails. In this day and age, it is an expectation that reliable fast wifi will be available 24 hours a day - at the Spider House this is simply not the case. Breakfast was awful - a list of 12 possible breakfast dishes - no buffet - and ONE cup of tea or coffee!!! ONE - what is that all about? The receptionist is on duty from 08:30 until 4:30 - hard luck if you want to arrive later than that - I don't know what happens in that case. There was no transport from the point the coach dropped us and the hotel - fortunately another hotel got our luggage up the hill but we still had to drag it about 400 metres over snow to get to the hotel and the same when we left! It is a shame, given its fantastic position, this could be a fabulous aparthotel, but (possibly because the apartments are all privately owned) there is not the will to make it anything better than mediocre. As I said in the title, disappointing!…
Very well located on the center of Ski Center 3, don't know about the hotel but had 2 times lunch and drinks at the restaurant with friends and kids, have received good service and fair quality food, could be tried;
Comparing to previous years they are far too spoiled. To have a decent food you have to suffer the service... Cold and decreased amount on the plate in order not to miss the money... Shame...Shame...Shame
We came here twice for lunch while skiing and had the typical tourist-place experience. Expensive (for the Bulgarian standards, for the EU ones is fine), but tasty, the place has one big issue: there are so many people that you have to wait 45 minutes for a soup or salad and another 30 to pay the bill.... I can’t really say that this one of the places to go for lunch or apres-ski...
Stopped here a few times for quick drink in between skiing. Nicer when we could sit outside in the sunshine as opposed to very misty conditions the first three days. Staff here all very pleasant. Will be back next ski holiday.
Although they have the perfect location and their restaurant could easily be a tourist trap it is not. It is really good. They have perfect views to the ski run and excellent food. Try their Mursalski tea! What about their oven baked Smilyan beans with home-made sausage? Definitely recommended!
The hotel is on the slopes, best location in Pamporovo, easy access to everything. Unfortunately, this is the only benefit. Apartments vary by size and amenities, overall fine, but simple. Quite expensive considering conditions, bathroom is super simple, small bedroom, kitchennette with nothing inside - no forks, dishes, soap, anything. It was warm, yet the temperature varies quite a lot throughout the day/night, could be really hot, or really cold. This is an appartment place, with limited service, not a hotel. Reception is empty majority of the time. Cleaning staff is somehow rude and not client oriented, every small thing ( like needle and string) is an issue. Worst is the restaurant and the owner. We've waited for 20 min for someone to take an order, and then 45 min to have a soup delivered. Smoking in several places, including the owner in the restaurant as mentioned in the previous post, in the ski storage, in the lobby. Ice everywhere, they are not making a simple effort to have the rod to the hotel, or the stairs to the lobby cleaned. Poor experience, and will not come back again.…
We were several families with small kids. The hotel does not offer any facilities for kids and they had to play in the restaurant all the time. People and staff are smoking at the restaurant and even after our complain that it should be not allowed as it is illegal, the owner of the restaurant continued smoking. There are kitchens in the apartments but no equipment, nothing! In front of the hotel, if there is no snow, it is a mud "sea''. Mud everywhere. Impossible to leave your luggage without jumping into it. The worst was that an envelope with some cash was stolen from our friends. For sure will not repeat, although this is the best location in Pamporovo.
