The 4 of us arrived on March 1st (for 3 of us it was the 3rd consecutive year here) and there was no snow at resort level - depressing. Dani, our host, said "snow is coming". And that night it snowed and snowed and the next morning there were brilliant conditions. The hotel is warm, clean, and comfortable, and the breakfast and dinner excellent . But no more cheese as a choice for dessert which was a shame. The rooms are nice, lovely views of the slopes from the balcony, and there is plenty of hot water for showers and baths. The cleaning staff do a great job and I always tip them. The bar before and after dinner is always a nice place to be . Dani does a 6 day package which includes a 5 day lift pass, and this was enough for these pensioner skiers! Snow was great all week and despite some white out conditions we skied for several hours every day. There was so much snow that we had to dig out the car using the hotel shovels before we drove back to Barcelona. El Tarter is a fantastic resort and the Del Tarter a brilliant value hotel. All in all another brilliant holiday here - a week after we left the resort was shut down due to Covid19 so we were lucky. But we are planning to be back next year - thanks to Dani and his staff!

We booked for 2 nights in a room with triple twin beds. The hotel is very pretty with terrific staff but the room was tiny. Probably the rooms with only 2 twin beds have more space. I was happy to have a coffee pot. We knew the rooms had no air conditioning when we booked but it was very hot in the room even though we travel with our own oscillating fan. So we had to leave. The staff understood and was gracious. This is probably a wonderful hotel in the winter! Also I really liked that they had parking right outside of the entrance which was convenient.

Three of us returned and a new addition to our ski party for 6 nights - the hotel is still nice and warm with plenty of hot water and good sized rooms with balcony and great views of the slopes. Breakfast was as good as per last year with plenty of choice and good freshly squeezed juices. Dinner was excellent, soups especially good, good meat and fish choices, and the beef fondue on Friday nights - and choice of wine was good and reasonable. There is a nice bar for drinks before dinner and also after dinner - nice atmosphere generally. Danny again was calm and helpful, and the room rates were good and included the ski passes. Boot and ski room is good with lockers for your gear and key provided (same number as your room. Access as ever from the boot room across the garden means a good shortcut to the chairlift, but better is the ability to ski down all the way to the gondola. So a good location, good price, and all round an excellent place to stay.

I had the privilege of staying at the Hotel del Tarter in El Tarter on a recent ski vacation to Andorra during the first week of April. I found this property to be absolutely perfect for me. It was clean and very well run. The staff was over the top efficient, courteous, and friendly. What a gem! Georges, Dani, and Fatima saw to my every whim, helped me with all my questions, and took really excellent care of me. The rooms are somewhat smallish....typical European...but very comfortable and well appointed. I had a balcony room overlooking the river, and fell asleep each night listening to the sound of rushing water. The plus was the full sized bathroom with a tub, very unlike many little shoehorned bath spaces in other European hotels. The bathtub was a welcomed reward for long hours on the slopes. And speaking of the slopes, if you are there for skiing, the Grandvalira El Tarter gondola is just a short walk away as well as another chair lift. There is plenty of apres ski action close by as well. I can't leave this review without mentioning the food...SUPERB! I got the full half board with my room. I never had to ear anywhere else except for an occasional snack on the slopes at lunch. The hotel provides a great breakfast and dinner with lots of delicious freshly prepared choices and fantastic service. I did not go hungry. Oh, and the price! I was there for 8 nights. I got my room, full half board PLUS lift tickets for 850 Euro. What a deal! I highly recommend the Hotel del Tarter for your next trip. Enjoy.
