We had the chance to meet Ron (and his very nice border collie Beth) during this winter as we were travelling north Scotland by freezing weather. He invited us to visit his B&B telling us it was the "Most romantic B&B of Scotland". When we arrived, we have to admit he was probably right! The place is simply amazingly beautiful...

Our stay at the Stonechats Croft B&B is now about 3 months ago and I meant to write this review much earlier (Sorry Ron, life kicked back in right after we left Scotland). I still want to share our experience at this wonderful and maybe even a bit peculiar B&B as this was one of the most memorable experiences during...

This is my third visit to the Scottish Highlands. This time with my daughter. But for some reasons, I always end up at Stonechat's croft B&B. It must be the most beautiful view in all of Scotland, looking over the Assynt mountains range and the Atlantic Ocean with all its islands. Ron, the owner, always goes out of his way...

Rude, not very accommodation and £70 single occupancy for the service received was a rip off. will never use the B&B again due to how they treat people. asked kindly if possible for an earlier breakfast and was told "are you kidding." you would never think of this as a B&B status and I'm absolutely disgusted at the service received....

When I rang Ron in the first place he was very chatty and helpful in providing possible places to visit on the way to Stonechats, so I had high hopes. The places were indeed good to visit. Access to the B&B is along a very long (mile?) single lane road, off the main road south in Sutherland, but when you...

If you search for authenticity, kind ness humour and stillness go to Stonechats Croft. The householder "Ron" is a personnality welcoming and lively. His breakfasts are the best of Scotland. The viewpoint is splendid, the country superb. We hope we will come again.

We arrived at Ron's after a long day's cycling. Ron kindly gave us a lift to the pub in Scourie for dinner, and home again- something he does for his guests which we thought was a really nice touch. We stayed in the twin room overlooking the water, it was by far the most beautiful view we'd seen on our...

Stonechats is a beautiful little croft nestling into the hillside above Loch Duart. We had the double room with its large en-suite and large bath. Ron, the owner, a man of the south, is imbued with the myths and legends of Celtic folk-lore; his breakfasts are superb too! The views from the windows are beautiful and immense - from the...

If you want a posh place with television, wifi, and a cell phone signal, this place is not for you. If you are an adventurous nature-lover who appreciates jaw-dropping scenery off the beaten path, don’t miss this place. My twin room was modest and homey, with tea service ready, comfy bed, hot shower, and a spellbinding window overlooking the loch...
