A fabulously restored home that has maintained the original character and ambiance of the family's history in this sea side town. All the mod cons make for a very enjoyable stay along with the friendly hospitality shown by Carlos and Juan. A tasty Spanish breakfast and excellent coffee made by Carlos ensures a great start to the day.

Fabulous location - easy to get to shops and beach... Lovely hosts; Carlos, Ashun and Juan accommodated our late-in-the-day cleaning needs due the fact that we got home late from a music festival (so slept late the next day). Great that the hosts were also a 'taxi-service'. The offer of free fruit and cold bottled water was much appreciated. So... More

As we arrived late I was worried we had inconvenienced Juan and Carlos. To the contrary. Carlos had waited patiently with a warm welcome. This is a lovely typical Spanish family home. With a boutique style ambiance. A continental breakfast with plenty to eat..Coffee at the ready and even served as late as 10.30..fantastic as didn't have to rush for... More

We stayed here for the Benicassim festival which is about a 10 minute drive away. I cannot shower enough praise on Asun, Juan and Carlos for their hospitality especially when my wife was ill. They supplied paracetamol and were checking she was ok during our stay. It is a beautifully restored Spanish townhouse of their grandparents and with only 6... More

My review can be broken down into three parts: The Service, The Community, and The B & B Facility. The service was outstanding. Carlos and his wife does everything possible to accommodate you and the quality of your stay. They readily provide tips on restaurants and things to do in the area. Free Grande bottle of water provided each day... More

On a long drive from Portugal's Algarve to the north tip of Spain we arrived at Casa Arizo in mid August 2014 for a two night stay. We were met with such a warm welcome and a drink on the house. After a cold beer and a very pleasant glass of wine we were showed to our top floor room.... More

We enjoyed a lovely stay over the Easter holiday. The Casa Arizo is located in a beautifully restored family home with modern amenities yet an antique feeling. They prepare Valencian specialties prepared specially for their guests and the breakfast is wonderul, served on their charming outdoor patio with cane chairs dating from 100 years ago. The Arizo familly goes out... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the historic center of Oropesa del Mar, in Castellon, you can find Casa Arizo, a charming, Valencian modernist style house built in 1911, which was carefully restored in 2009 respecting the most decorative and architectural values of the time. The house was built by D. Jose Rivera Forner, administrator of the Counts of Cervellon, Lords of Oropesa. The owners were Carmen Rivera Llorens, daughter of D. Jose Rivera, and Juan Arizo Olmos, a reputable doctor, born in Valencia. Juan Arizo chose the name after the Spanish Nobel Prize in Medicine laureate. The house has an inscription on the front with the initials JR (Jose Rivera) and the year in which it was built (1911). Casa Arizo is framed within a cultural tourist route created by the municipality of Oropesa del Mar. In this route, the visitor can find 12 emblematic buildings in the town. Casa Arizo is a charming tourist accommodation, centrally situated in a quiet area only 1200 meters from the beach and close to the most important places. The whole house has been decorated with furniture that combines both the shapes and colours of the modernist Valencian style with functional and technological needs of today. Casa Arizo can accommodate 12 persons distributed in 4 double rooms, 2 suites and 2 family suites. The careful attention provided by all the staff at Casa Arizo, and the design of rooms and spaces take visitors away from the traditional hotel concept, and surround them in a new style of service and hospitality. Casa Arizo is located in a strategic location near the most important communication points and close to almost everywhere: 8 minutes from FIB, 10 minutes from the Harley-Davidson annual meeting, 34 minutes from Peniscola and its Jazz and Cinema festivals, 5 minutes from the yachting harbour... ... more   less
