I read the previous reviews and thought I was going to an ideal hotel, what I found was not what I expected. Four star no way, I think its got new owners, which may explain the discrepancy between the expected and the reality. The reception and the cleaning were good, room great and the staff friendly, BUT and heres the thing, they are not the same people who run the kitchen and heres the problem. We went for 10 days the breakfast was ridiculous, museli, ham, cheese and last nights stale bread, the orange juice was sweet the coffee cold and the eggs, well they were cold too, We went half board, so got bed, breakfast and chose evening meal and were given coleslaw as a salad not an accompaniment, the dishes arrived cold , the service was awfully slow and we had a storm, where water was running through the bar and down the lights. We had a drink and yes I mean one each and spent more than 100 euros ,prices 7 euros for a fresh orange juice with our evening meal (each) rookie mistake should have read the menu with the price list , but come on really!!!! (and yes I mean a glass), We were lucky we had hired a car, so we could see the island, so managed to do some shopping to get goods for lunches and drinks that didn't cost the earth. This hotel is about a mile from the nearest store, restaurant ,in fact anything, so they have a captive audience, we did relax and apart from the storm the weather was ok but cold in the evenings, but we did visit in May so we did take woolens. I was surprosed that what was described as a pool bar was also the breakfast room, dining room, bar, so not really a pool bar and not by the side of the pool as we expected. I was on the whole really disappointed ,if someone from the Sea Sound reads this my advice, stop serving cold food, the prices are ridiculous and look at how the pool bar / dining room is managed.…
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing pool/beach getaway or a bolt hole to enjoy santorini or a mixture of both this hotel is perfect. Recommend hiring a car just because santorini is best seen with the freedom to explore. Amazing staff, very helpful, friendly and good fun Food was great Rooms very spacious and perfectly clean every day
This is the perfect location if you want sun and relaxation and some quiet time. My initial reaction when I saw the room was that they must use a wide lense camera for the photos on their website as they are a lot smaller however this seems to be typical of Greek accommodation and it was basic small but lovejy. We chose a sea view with plunge pool which I would highly recommend. While the main pool area is fabulous it was lovely to have our own space and in 30 degrees heat the plunge pool was so welcomed. We had a little path then to a table and chairs on a raised platform on the shore which was also a lovely touch. At night we could sit on our patio with a glass of wine and hear the waves crash on the beach just perfect. The rooms were cleaned every day and the complex was gleaming. We were in the restaurant a few times and the food was lovely. Not a huge variation on choice and the lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu but food was freshly prepared and tasty. My only disappointment about the complex was the location. While it’s beachfront it’s at the quieter end of the beach it’s a good 20 min walk into perissa and not the most pleasant of walks. The beach isn’t the best for walking on with very soft volcanic sand but walking the beach will take 10 mins off your 20 min road walk. I would advise hiring a car the island is small so you would only need it for a few days. We hired a car for one day directly from reception for 40 euros better value than a transfer cost of 15 Euro each way to perissa or local restaurants. We also hired a quad bike for two days a must to experience the mode of transport everyone uses on the island great for day time exploring. I do like to have the option of visiting other restaurants and if you head to vylchada there is a fabulous restaurant called psaraki 10 mins from the complex great for viewing the sunset and the marina and the food is really delicious. We also tried Dimitrios also located here which had great reviews but I wasn’t impressed. In the other direction is a restaurant called Lava real authentic Greek food and fabulous it’s a 20 min walk from the complex but only 10 if you walk the beach. We had a really lovely relaxing stay in sea sound I would get a car just to have the flexibility to explore and have the option to try other restaurants. Definitely drive up to Fira and oia just to see them but equally as fabulous are the other areas on the beach side of the island and views of the sunset just around the corner of sea sound. We had a great trip.…
What can one say about the place? The cleanliness of the rooms, rather spacious for such a tourist location like Santorini, the warmness of the staff and eagerness to accommodate, the calmness of the place away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the main towns and the packed shore, everything has been amazing. The flip side is that it is located in a slightly more remote location but nothing a scooter or car rental (or paid transfer) cannot fix. Also the immediate beach is not most ideal for swimming due to the rock but again with a scooter or a car the main beach is 2 mins away. Most certainly we will come back next year
I don’t understand how this hotel has managed to get so many good reviews. The pool is nice, as are the grounds but the rooms are super basic and unfortunately I had the worst 7 nights sleep I think I’ve ever had in a hotel. The bed is rock hard, old and the pillows might as well not be there. Our experience was far from good, we first got given the wrong room. After booking a 45sqm suite with kitchen and 2 balconies we were given a tiny double room with no kitchen. We had to spend the night there and the next day were left without a room from 9am until 1:30pm when we were eventually given the room we paid for. These mistakes happen, but there was no compensation offered by the hotel at all. On top of that, we had planned to cook for ourselves (especially because I am pregnant and have certain dietary requirements I need to stick to) but of course for breakfast on the first day (when we had no room and no kitchen) we had to eat the hotel. The breakfast was pretty bad, cordial instead of fresh orange, and in general just a variety of sub standard food. Certainly far from what you would expect from a “4* luxury hotel”. The hotel had the cheek to charge us for this terrible breakfast that we had no choice but to eat because of their messing up the room. The restaurant in general was terrible, nothing on the menu is fresh other than the catch of the day which is mind blowing when you are right by the sea! It was such a shame to receive this kind of service when every trip to Greece we have been on has been the total opposite, with amazing hospitality no matter where we go. What a let down this place was. I would certainly not recommend it to anyone coming to Santorini, there are plenty of other better options on the island.…
If you want a party hotel, this is not for you. If you want really personal care and attention from staff who clearly love their jobs and want you to enjoy yourself, then this is the place to go. The rooms are plain but comfortable, the suite at no 15, is much more than that. The pool is lovely, as are the grounds. The half board menu may look international but everything is cooked with care and flair, with very Greek twists. You will gain weight here. 2 notes of caution. You do need a car. There are many things not far away but not within walking distance. Secondly, the beach is not really swimmable or comfortable, even by Santorini's low standards.
The preparation for a Greek holiday during the covid situation was quite a concern having to obtain QR codes to travel, wearing masks on planes was strange to everyone. We knew the experience in Greece was going to be different but were not sure what. On arrival at the Sea Sound White Katikies we were met by Efi who took us around the property explaining how things work with Covid in play, we need not have worried the team had thought of everything. Our breakfasts could be taken in our rooms, around the pool, all in boxes and bags, everything we needed just different. Katerina was in charge of the food and bar area and nothing was too much trouble a real lovely generous person. Giannis was supporting Katerina in the bar and serving meals as part of a summer break from University, he is a great guy and was an asset to the team - Good luck for the future Giannis. As part of our deal we had half board which could be taken as lunch or dinner, whilst the choice options were limited what we got was of a good quality. The hotel was quiet but so was everywhere else we visited, the pool area was very clean and the sunbeds were very comfortable. Our white suite was as it indicates all white, but a typical greek room that was very nice and had all we needed. …
It was a wonderful holidays !!Staf is very Welcoming and very kind Very Call and soothing place We will come back every year !! Special thanks to all the staf and thanks to Catherina ;) Ali and Noura !!
Best vacation ever. Great suite with private pool. The sound of the sea is awesome. It was a dream come true. The staff are such lovely people that treat you like family. I cried when I left... Already booked again and can't wait to go back.
Do yourself a favor and book this hotel!!! I have never felt so at home in any hotel. The staff was friendly, polite and very supportive, fulfilling all our needs. We even became good friends and they gave us great advice on what to see and helped us with the booking. We had a beautiful sea-side room right off the beach, including a small private pool. The room was spacious, tasteful and clean, as was the bathroom. The only downside was the window connecting to the bathroom, a small privacy issue, but manageable. The food was absolutely delicious. Every meal included a salad and a dessert and varied over the week. No two meals were the same and not a single meal was lacking, truly delicious. One thing to point out, the hotel was in a somewhat remote location and not close to any towns, shops or attractions. I personally liked this aspect since it made for a relaxing experience, but you do have to rent a car to get around the island. As stated before, do yourself a favor and book this hotel. We fell in love with the place, the food and the wonderful, supportive staff!…
