We stayed at this lodge during Dec 2016/Jan2017. Its a beautiful lodge with stunning views. It has an outdoor jacuzzi so you can sit and relax with a view of the lake. We stayed at Lakeside Cottage 3. Zinhle from Housekeeping looked after us during our 4 night stay. She was an absolute Angel, taking care of our very request....

Dear CosmosFields Thank you for the lovely review and I am glad Zinhle and the Spa ladies were friendly and helpful. We are constantly doing maintenance, pros and cons of living in such a beautiful place with such extreme weather conditions, especially working with a living product such as wood. Thank you again for the review and hopefully we can...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in one of the lakeside lodges. The views are breathtaking and our lodge was comfortable and met all our needs. This venue is a must for nature lovers or people seeking rejuvenation of body and soul. We opted for the fully catered option and found the meals to be substantial.

Stayed at the Lakeside lodge (no 3). It’s the most private - though they all are. It’s a 4 Km drive from the main road though a manned gate. There are only 3 lakeside lodges – large dinning cum living room overlooking the lake, Jacuzzi outside which is kept warm and ready for you – just the perfect place to...

We stayed at Sani Valley Lodge for two nights in a Lake Side Suite. We enjoyed it a lot - it is a very peaceful, calm place and just perfect to relax and be close to nature. Food is delivered in the evening, also everything else is cared for if requested. Also a perfect starting point for driving the Sani...

Stayed here for a weekend with my husband. Stunning location and beautiful rooms with the most amazing views. We were in one of the lakeside lodges which was gorgeous. Very well equipped with braai facilities and everything one could need in the kitchen and bedroom. The drive is accessible with a car but the recent rains made me happy that...

We stayed two nights at the Sani Valley Lodge and booked the Misty Morning Lodge. The surroundings are just beautiful and view from the logde is impressing. Rooms were tiny and clean. But we were a bit upset about the difference of the parents room (beautiful view, nice bed,...) and the childrens room (two old beds, very small room, no...

Dear XdamaX Thank you for your review and the compliments on the views. We stayed at Sani Valley Lodge for 2 nights. This lodge has an amazingly beautiful setting with views that left us in awe! 3 lakes on the property where you can fish, game roaming around freely (zebras, blesbok, rooihartbees, springbok & eland). We enjoyed a boat ride on the main lake, horse back safari and a trip up Sani Pass...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sani Valley Lodge and Hotel is a private nature reserve only 2 hours from Durban. It sits within the dramatic Drakensberg mountain range, borders the World Heritage Site and is the closest luxury accommodation to the famous Sani Pass. The reserve accommodates couples, families and small groups, all with the choice of full & self catering. Within the valley sits one of the largest privately owned lakes in South Africa, which is surrounded by a variety of antelope, zebra, baboons and other wildlife. It is one of the very few animal reserves in the Drakensberg, further enhanced by the vast lake which attracts unparalleled birdlife. The fishing is well renowned with regional records being attributed to the size of the lake. This is the prefect place to relax and have fun. One can indulge in a massage, be taught how to fly fish, go otter spotting by canoe, lounge in the Jacuzzi, be taken game viewing on horse back, drive a 4X4 up the famous Sani Pass, hike to the Bushmen paintings and more. Come visit. It's an experience you'll never forget! ... more   less
