didn't really expect much and was plesantly surprised: big room, even with a balcony, good beds and a nice breakfast. the only thing that annoyed me was that the blinds did not quite keep the swedish summer out.

Very quaint historic hotel just off the beaten path in Marstrand. If you don't mind shlepping your bags up cobble stoned streets from the ferry -- and then up steep flights of stairs to your room (no elevator) -- then this old beaut will offer you a lot of comfort. The restaurant is outstanding for dinner, though the breakfast buffet... More

Our family lives in Marstrand so we did not stay here. However, I would like to share our dining experience at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant at night is lovely for couples or family and friends to dine it. The service is always great and the food is always one notch above our expectations.Price matches the cuisine. The decor has... More

Situated in an ideal location on the island of Marstrand (near the best fish and chip shop ever!), with a lovely view. I thought that the decor was quaint and the service was satisfactory. The rooms were well kept, and my favourite memory of the hotel was the breakfasts. It wasn't a huge affair with a large buffet, but consisted... More

Me and my fiancé spent one night here and found the hotel great. The receptionist was very friendly and our room "tower room" was huge and offered nice views of the park and harbor below the hotel. Both the room and bathroom were clean and in good standard and furnished in 'old style'. Biggest drawback is lack of access as... More

We stayed four nights in this hotel in July. The staff was friendly and serviceminded. The rooms were large and nicely furnished. The restaurant serves lovely fish dishes, including shell fish. The only complaint I have is that the hotel lacks some kind of lounge or common area for sitting down enjoying a beer, a snack or glass of wine... More

The hotel is rather tired. It could do with refurbishment especially of the decor and furnishing. There really is no excuse for a four star hotel to have bed sheets with holes in them, stained bed covers and shower heads which do not match the rest of the bathroom furnishing. It's located well enough, a short walk from the ferry,... More

The hotel has charm (as everybody notices). In other ways it is average. Old elegance inside, drunken people wandering the streets outside at night, too hot room (on a particularly hot night), and not very good breakfast. Not enough competition on the picturesque island (or too many wealthy people staying there anyway) may have led to a somehow inflated price-level.

We received a very warm welcome at the hotel, and all the staff we met were genuinely friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, and furnished in a traditional style. It was a good size, with a large bathroom. It also had a small balcony with a sea/harbour view. We saw inside several other rooms and although they each furnished... More

I stood here for a week during a course. The location is very nice and tge hotel, one of the oldest, is very cosy and nice. The rooms are perfect for...one person but 2 people might not have enough space. The service and food are very good. There is no air conditioning but during night is OK.
