Stayed here with my wife for 4 nights. Not to far from the airport and there are tram stops around 10 mins walk away into Amsterdam centre. Staff were helpful and the place was very clean. In a nice quiet area with a few restaurants and bars within walking distance. Would stay here again
I unfortunately have to agree with other reviews about the total lack of humanity and comprehension by who manages this hotel. I could not travel due to force majeure reasons and they were completely unavailable and unsupportive. Sad to see people still behaving like this in 2022.
I have slept in this lovely boutique hotel for one night . The room was really spacious and very clean, the same for the bathroom. We had a very good breakfast and che check in and checkout were super easy. Staff was very friendly and the location was perfect for us. In the relaxing outskirts of Amsterdam , by bike it’s only 15 minutes to the center. Very close to the bus which will take you everywhere. Nearby there are supermarkets and restaurant, a nice lake where you can enjoy a good walk. I will surely come back and recommend it.
Bijou little hotel on outskirts of Amsterdam, which is easily reached by public transport. We understood our budget, and set our expectations accordingly, but we are extremely pleased by the welcome from all the staff were have met here. Although not lavish, the facilities are impeccably clean, and our room ("Carel Appel") is compact but nicely laid out. The "Continental breakfast" is probably what one would expect, but the staff are charming and attentive - their service is much appreciated. A special mention must be made of the evening meals prepared in the restaurant by "Roy" (Leroy); we have feasted on the peanut chicken and house-prepared burger with No. 19 dressings, which were very appetising. And this evening, we have delighted in his "slow-braised calf", with braised vegetables and "long-and-low baked jacket potatoes". No-one would consider us restaurant critics, but we know what we like - and we LOVED this! Thank you very much Roy. So if you are anywhere nearby between 6.30pm and 9.00pm, pop in for a quick drink before sampling what main courses this Chef can offer. We hope you will enjoy your meals as much as we did.…
The location is pretty enough in a residential area next to a canal, when I checked on parking they said there is plenty of on-street parking. We arrived to find the street dug up and only 5 parking spaces at the hotel. We had booked online and knew we had to pay the bed tax on arrival, our UK bank cards didn't work so cash it was. We climbed the 2 flights of stained carpeted stairs with equally stained walls and scraped bannisters. The room was warm and the bed well made, tea and coffee was available to make and a large Samsung TV hung on the wall. Having been told the hotel restaurant was not open on a Friday night we got pizza and headed back to the room to watch some TV and relax, sadly the TV did not work and when I complained they said they would call the TV people who would fix it remotely, after 30 minutes it still didn't work, another trip down the grubby stairs to complain. I was told again a call would be made but no idea when a repair might occur and no chance to change room, we were given 2 Cokes to help us wait for the non existent remote repair that never happened. After a quiet night in with our pizza we rose to find an inch of water in the bath where it dropped all night and housekeeping had helpfully left the plug closed. The towel rail is in the shower area so after moving all the towels I got the shower working. The first thing I noticed was the tepid temperature and low pressure, the second thing I found was when I took the shower head from the cradle and water went shooting out at right angles, turns out the lack of pressure was due to the split hose. Breakfast was as disjointed as the hotel in general, we asked for tea and got a pot of hot water and 5 minutes later a choice of teabag to put in it, who needs boiling water to make good tea anyway and not even any milk! We were asked how we wanted our eggs when we both said two fried eggs please the looked as if we had asked for a fillet steak for breakfast. All in all not what we hoped for, there were other things like mold round the bath a wallpaper peeling off the walls. Clearly a couple of years ago this could have been a nice place to stay but not so much now sadly.…

We stayed at Alp de Veenen during our trip to Amsterdam. The hotel has free parking on the quiet street which was great as we drove there. The breakfast was excellent and we had no complaints. Staff was very helpful in giving information on public transport and what to see and do in Amsterdam. They also had multiple vouchers available for more popular attractions in Amsterdam. The tram from Amstelveen to central Amsterdam is around 10-15 mins from the hotel and the tram ride around 30 mins. Our room was comfortable and clean with everything we needed for out three night stay.
We chose the hotel to stay for the night, far enough from the airport to experience life in the suburbs of Amsterdam. Situated on a canal and within walking distance to the historic downtown area of Amstelveen, I would choose the hotel again. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a feast. They kindly organized a taxi for us to the airport and gave us much needed and helpful advise for our visit to Amsterdam, later.
We had a group of six coming from various locales and met up here. For a somewhat more modest fee than you would pay in downtown Amsterdam, just stay in this quiet suburb and take tram number five in (all day ticket, 8 euros), which gets you right to museum area. From there you can simply walk to the main part of town. The staff is helpful. The little town also has several good restaurants.
Be warned with this hotel about their check in policy. Unfortunately I wasn’t aware until it was too late! I had pre paid my booking for one night in this hotel, my check in was going to be around midnight due to unforeseen circumstances. I got a phone call around 11pm that night from the hotel to say if I wasn’t there before 11.30pm I would not be allowed to check in. I was unable to get there’s before midnight and therefore had to forfeit my pre paid booking and book another hotel at short notice and therefore a much higher price. Afterwards on discussion with the hotel they refused to refund even half of the booking. I have had to check in to hotels at midnight or later in the night multiple times before and it was always my belief that if you paid for a room, it should be yours regardless of what time you check in. Are night porters not able to check people in anymore???? Really upset by this and definitely will not be booking again on my return visits to Amstelveen. …
