The Lodge itself is very unusual and a very interesting and hospitable place to stay, without having to travel long distances from the coast. The staff were exceptional and the food very good. It is well-organised,clean and the game and birds around the Lodge very interesting. The staff were so keen to ensure that we had a good experience, and... More

We didn't stay at the hotel, but we went for lunch there. It was incredible! The restaurant looked over a waterhole. Whilst eating a very delicious lunch we saw fish eagles swooping, monkeys leaping and monitor lizards swimming, not to mention the red squirrels scurrying! The staff were super friendly and professional. I would highly recommend the Lodge to stay... More

Shimba Hills Lodge provides and excellent alternative for visitors to the Kenyan coast to do some very enjoyable game and bird watching. The Lodge has a superb location on a waterhole with much resident wildlife including two fish eagles. We had excellent evening and morning game drives seeing plenty, both large (elephants) and small (turtles). The food was excellent, the... More

We have been to this lodge a few times in the past and were disappointed, particularly by the food. This has all changed with the new management and the rooms are well equipped, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Nice bathrooms with good hot showers. The food is now really good and varied. It is really worth a visit now to... More

The lodge is surrounded in the green of the forrest. It suites perfectly into its environment. Its very quiet. We had a suite with own bathroom - which is worth its price more than that. Brilliant. A fantastic lodge in a beautiful setting, excellent staff and delicious food too! Its not very far from either Mombasa nor Diani and that is the best part. In Spite of being so close, it is a world apart in terms of the natural beauty. Not much phone connectivity, but i can live with that for a day or two.... More

I chose Shimba Hills Lodge because I needed a place to completely relax.
