Stayed for 1 x night on Bank Holiday Monday. A lovely 'quirky' old building but does need some attention on the hotel side. A redecoration would be beneficial to the tired old place....the bar, restaurant and staff were good.

I stayed at the lion for the first time at the weekend, the staff were very welcoming, the room was lovely with a four poster bed and was clean and inviting. The food was great and the bar was comfortable with a nice atmosphere. We enjoyed the period features of the hotel and it was a great location just a...

Found this lovely pub on our way to visit family, just off the A1 We decided to find a nice country pub with a garden serving food, rather than using the normal services pit stops. Food was amazing, good quality and freshly cooked. Very polite and friendly staff and a beautiful clean outside garden to sit in. Did not use...

Dates back to 15th Century. Picturesque oak beams. Friendly staff. Off street parking. Delicious breakfasts. Good choice of evening meals, well-preserved and -served. We plan to return in the future for visits to the Cambridge area.

I needed to suddenly find somewhere to stay when my husband was taken ill, and I stayed at the Lion Hotel in Buckden. I was looked after well, and even my dog was made a huge fuss of. Lovely breakfast, and pleasant area to sit and read in during the evening. Would recommend it.

Stayed here for one night - old black and white coaching inn with tons of character - breakfast was good and ate in the evening which was enjoyable - there a fireplace with a wood burner. The bar area is good too.

Had breakfast and dinner at The Lion on Thursday 6th. Great atmosphere, with very polite, attentive and professional staff. The food was absolutely delicious, with very generous portion sizes! (We had the ribeye steak, The Lion burger and one of the specials for dinner which were all lovely!) I would highly recommend, and will be visiting again soon!

We were looking for a dog friendly hotel in the area and we're really glad we chose to stay here. A lovely atmospheric hotel in a little friendly village just off the A1. The hotel staff were really friendly and were very dog friendly also. Dog treats in the bedroom. We had a room in the annex at the rear...
