Apart from being almost on the beach itself, this place is a bit overrated as far as overall quality of certain aspects of their offer in services and amenities. Room is confortable, view from it is fabulous but…the pillows are horribly hard, woke up with a sore neck, the food at their restaurant is kind of ok if you choose Thai food but for American food, it is, let say, less than average, there are some choices that they scratch from their menu because they just don’t know how to cook it, simple thing bruschetta, club sandwich, breakfast is also pretty boring if you not Asian; cold and uncooked chicken sausages, cold chicken ham presented in cold water bowl, coffee is good though and toast are great, I ended up eating that only…last déception, beach access from beach front villa number 2 you need to walk about 200 meters right to the marina entrance or 200 meters left to the restaurant to get access to the beach that is about 20 meters right in front of your room. There is a concrete wall, high of about 1.6 meters that separates you from the beautiful white sand beach. See photos attached…

This place has great potential but it just isn’t quite there yet. Due to Chinese New Year that seemed to be the 95% demographic.. Breakast is very good with omelettes and oriental mix what’s not to love? Room over pool was clean but drains a bit smelly. Pool was full of kids with terrible music blaring so we kept away from the resort during the day. WIFI is practically none existent for 90% of the day.... frustrating for digital nomads!! Great ability to get a tuk tuk anytime and the staff were lovely. I would use this place as a stopover betweeen locations only in future...

Hotel with relaxing and nice atmosphere. We stayed in both pool room ad garden bungalows. Excellent. Clean and fantastic service. The restaurant right on the beach. Never seen such a colour on the sea before. Snorkling possibilties and lots of fish directly on the beach. We would like to come back.

Location is fantastic, right on Pattaya Beach & just a couple of minutes from the ferry & Walking Street. Breakfast buffet is delicious, the best I've seen at a budget hotel, lots of selection & all delicious! I've had worse at 5 star hotels. Staff are friendly & room cleaned every day. It was also exceptional value compared to anything nearby. The room/chalet was quite small but that was manageable, my big negative was the bed! Honestly the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in. Hard like cement with a layer of Styrofoam on top. So if you like a hard mattress, Bundhaya will be perfect for you! That said, it didn't spoil the trip & we enjoyed our stay in beautiful Koh Lipe

I booked via Booking.com for February 12th, 2024 to February 15th, 2024 at the Bundhaya Resort in Koh Lipe (island) in Thailand:
Superior bungalow for 2 people with 2 double beds, including breakfast buffet for the entire stay.
After checking in in the afternoon, we received our bungalow... Oh dear!!! It was a very old bungalow, very very poorly maintained, serviced, very noisy (because of the construction site opposite). There were a lot of defects, which I photographed as evidence (you can see them in the pictures). My wife and I were "very" dissatisfied, went to reception (check-in). We asked for a replacement, after about half an hour we were given another bungalow (opposite). The replacement we received was a little better but still not TOP, it also had defects but fewer. We didn't complain anymore, we didn't want to spoil our short stay with trouble. Apart from the bungalows we received, the rest wasn't bad. The breakfast buffet was excellent, sufficient choice. The location and the beach were beautiful. The island of Lipe is otherwise very beautiful, with wonderful sunsets. Water clear, some corals near the beach. There are enough different restaurants and bars on the island that satisfy every taste. There are also various shops. We had nothing negative to say about the island, (it's just a matter of taste).
So I wouldn't necessarily recommend the bungalows.
The villas or new building area is a thousand times better.
There is a swimming pool with a drinks bar at the back of the newer area.
I would only recommend the new area and the breakfast buffet, but not the old wooden bungalows. The care and maintenance here left a lot to be desired. See pictures!

The hotel located almost right in front to the pier so it’s very convenient but also a bit busy. The Deluxe Pool View room we stayed was ok, not big, not so clean but not that dirty. Breakfast was the best part, very good for 3 star hotel. The services was okay a bit harsh from some of the staffs.

We took the bundhaya speed boat transfer from koh lipe to koh lanta, the driver endangered the lives of everyone on the boat. I have driven boats since i was 14 and am now 26, i know their limits whats safe and whats not. The number 1 rule is you never drive a boat faster than the conditions call for. If the water is flat you can go fast, if there are big waves you must slow down or you risk cracking the hull. The driver was extremely reckless and was jumping the boat 1 too 2 meters high out of the water with about 30 people on board. The boat would come slamming back on the water, all he had to do to avoid this was to slow down until the waves past. This is extreemly reckless and dangerous for everyone on the boat. If there are big waves you have to SLOW DOWN. Who cares if it makes you a little late at least people will get there safe. It is shameful of this resort to allow people to drive these boats in this manner. Do not trust this resort for your transfers from koh lipe! Also when we were approaching lanta the driver was speeding through a small passageway between islands and cutting the boat very close to shore if he had slipped even for a brief moment everyone on the boat would be dead! Slow your boat down when conditions call for it otherwise this is a tragedy waiting to happen! I have taken speed boats all over thailand and none of them have driven as insanely as this one.

We were traveled to Koh Lipe thailand on 10/05/2017-13/05/2017. Based on good reviews from tripadvisor, we choose to stay this resort The location is very good , next to the Immigration and closer to the walking street. But the staffs who working in this resort was make us very disappointed. I used to travel lot places of Thai, Thai people always give us very good impression, they are very friendly and polite. But the service that we get from this resort make us SHOCK and SPEECHLESS. The staff who working there no sends any greeting, no smile at all since first day we staying in this resort. The Wifi connection is very poor there. We had elderly with us and who is businessman. My friend was make a very polite request to the receptionist that he can’t connect with the WIFI in room. They is the answer from a receptionist staff : HOW COME ONLY U COMPLAINT THAT U CAN’T CONNECT TO THE WIFI?OTHER GUESTS WERE NO MAKE ANY COMPLAINTS. ” IT WAS VERY RUDE ANSWER WHILE GUEST WAS MAKE A GENTLE REQUEST AND SOMEMORE HE IS ELDELY. Unfortunely we lost the room keys, just a key we lost, we have to paid Thai Baht 2000 (RM240), the price is too over. We admit that this is our careless, we have to pay this amount. But the resort no provides us the new key immediately, we have to always ask the staff to open our room every time we want enter the room. What’s the point that we get the key at the last night we going to leave????? IS FUNNY THAT WE PAID BUT WE NO GET KEY IMMEDIATELY!!! I did request to meet the resort owner , MISS ELLE but she was in overseas based the message from resort staff. We choose to stay in Garden Deluxe Bungalow, there have 2 bathrooms, one is open air bathroom, one is indoor. The resort no provide the curtain and we have to be aware to avoid the outsider people will watch through our indoor bathroom. It makes us feel no secure while using the toilet. Is raining at KOH LIPE during we travelling there. During check out time, the receptionist staff told me that one umberal was lost, it going to charge me ,AGAIN, CHARGE ME !!! I was really get shock as i never ever used and touch the umberal since I knew it was in our room. AS THE LOST KEY ISSUE WAS GIVE US A “ GOOD LESSON”, we no dare to use any thing in this resort . I request them to check again, just a minute , they said they found the umbral. So sorry to comment that this resort give us feeling that they are waiting guest to lost something and charge you. WE ARE NO RECOMMEND THIS RESORT TO ANY ONE OF OUR FRIENDS. There’s a lot the nice hotel and resort along the beach, u can get much better service from there. This is consider 4 or 5 star resort, the price that we paid is not worth it. MAKE SURE THAT U CHECK EVERYTHING ONCE U ENTER THE ROOM, OTHERWISE THEY WILL GIVE U “ SURPRISE “ WHILE U LEAVE.
