We came with children and felt this place was wonderful. The service was a little slow, however, the kids enjoyed their time outside, walking alongside the river. Rooms were gorgeous. Bath was pretty.

You need to rent a car from the train station to get here or around this area. Check in was very quick and easy. Everyone is very happy and helpful. Food was so delicious. The best yet (better than Tokyo and Hakone). There's a store on the second floor that I wanted to buy everything: cookies, salad dressing, candy ...... More

One of the best japanese style room we stayed at in a Ryokan in Japan. Although the ryokan name may be deceiving. This is after all a 110 room hotel. But in your room you definitely will not feel it at all. Superb contemporary Japanese craftmanship all around. Unfortunately, public areas are too big and busy to truly reflect the... More

A beautiful onsen resort with peaceful surroundings. Heartful hospitality begins upon arriving when we're waiting for the check-in. Rooms are well-maintained and spacious. Definitely delicious Japanese cuisine and great quality of hot spring are all unforgetable. What makes the stay even more special is to go star-gazing by the astronomical telescope located at the hotel(free for the hotel residents). Don't... More

As the last stay here was so impressive, this time I took all my family members and went to Yamaguchi to chill out in this hotel. While others stayed at the main part of the hotel, my husband and I stayed in a separate court called Otozure this time. What an exquisite and adult space it was! The room was... More

This absolutely makes my top 5 hotels in the world. If you're after a 5star Ryokan (traditional Japanese) experience - this is it. Everything from the rooms, the mountain setting, the multiple hot springs, the food (10+ courses!), the observatory on the roof and the service are heavenly. It was the perfect place to start our tour of Japan as... More

It was my first trip to Yamaguchi! Fist I arrived to Shin-Yamaguchi station by shinkansen. A friendly staff at Tourist Information center gave me all the necessary information about the sightseeing included the detailed bus schedule. My route was Akiyoshidou/dai (which I got to know is the largest limestone cave in Asia) -> Hagi (famous for Japanese Pottery)-> and my... More

We stayed in Otanisanso near the end of May on the way back from Hagi to Hiroshima via Akiyoshidai. We absolutely loved every aspect of it – room, food, spa, service. Everything was superb - it was first-class throughout. When we drove into the hotel forecourt, we were greeted by two ladies in kimono. Our car was whisked away to... More
