Stay in a room with private cypress bath. The room is big and cypress bath is ok. Hotel seems understaff and dinner is especially disappointing. There is a public onsen next door which provides meals and free onsen if you visit in yukata from the hotel.
If you are looking for very personal service with quiet hot spring stay in Ureshino Onsen, this is one place you should check it out. Except 1st floor, there are only 6-7 rooms on each floor. We stayed on 5th floor which came with 2 separate rooms for a great rest. Staffs were excellent providing us every details with a great smile. I was told they have a young chief chef which we thought each dish was innovative while still giving us traditional flavors. Wish there were more English signage yet I am sure they will rather prefer to give you personal assistance during stay.
This was our second Onsen hotel in our 4 Onsen trip in Japan. The hotel is by the main road and is a multi level building. It is just a few step across the road from the bus stop ( from Takeo JRStation 武雄市). The staff are very friendly, since it was my wife birthday and Yoshino Takgi , the Manager surprised her with a gift, a set of two Japanese bowls. It was very nice of them. We found that the Onsen water quality in Ureshino was the best between all other three Onsen we were visited ( in 4 different cities) in this trip. The dinner and breakfast were good value for the money.
