This was my second stay at Karatsu Seaside Hotel. The newer wing has a large room with 2 beds (not quite full/queen but slightly wider than standard twin) and a tatami area. There is a table and chairs bridging the two halves together. You can sleep 5 or 6 people when you make use of futons. There is a view... More

We came all the way to Kartsu to eat Yobuko's famous squid. We first booked "Minshuku" type of accommodation as they tend to serve fresh seafood then changed our booking to the #1 ranked Karatsu Seaside Hotel. We are glad we did. The hotel itself is rather old and dated yet the staffs are young and welcoming. The seaview from... More

View is not sombad, But the location is too bad. Very far from station, restaurant, etc. but If in case of family travel with young kids in summer, this hotel can be recommended because of sea and pool.

Karatsu was our last stop in Kyushu after kagoshima and Miyazaki. The hotel facing a long beach which its swimming pool connected. Children will love it for all spending a whole day there. The onsen also facing the beach and you can enjoy the sunset too. Staff are friendly. Room condition was very old but still keeping clean and tidy.... More

Large and nice hotel on the beach that offers great views. Staff is mostly helpful and friendly but wouldn't call service great. Didn't eat the breakfast here but took a peak and it looked like there were lot's of options. Some rooms are newer than others and ours certainly was a little outdated but comfortable and clean. Within walking distance... More

I have now stayed at this hotel 3 times: May 2011, 2013, and 2015 for 3 or 4 nights each time. Each stay seemed too short and the wait to the next stay too long. The hotel is right on the 4 km long "Nijinomatsubara" beach which is backed by a pine forest planted about 350 years ago. You simply... More

We enjoyed an ocean view from our room which was lovely. Had an amazing seafood dinner at night.Breakfast wasn't all that great. Some nice walks nearby. Not far from some very interesting exhibitions and the Takatori residence.

We stayed here in August at the height of the summer. We requested a non-smoking room but were given a smoking room. For non-smokers this was entirely unacceptable. Whilst the lobby was quite lovely with views of the beach, our room was very dated. The furniture and bedding were quite old and the smell of smoke was quite intrusive. During... More

Karatsu is one of the last stops on the metroline from Fukuoka airport. The hotel rooms are clean. Since there are many rooms in different buildings there is variation. Due to scheduling of rooms, I was in two different rooms and 2 parts of the hotel. both rooms were entirely different as far as setup and look and feel. Both... More

This hotel did not live up to expectations. Rooms are dated and smell, especially the bathroom. Cleaning was not sufficient. While the BBQ near the pool was ok, dinner in the Japanese restaurant was a disaster: horrible service & poor food. Hotel personnel also make no efforts whatsoever to keep the beach area clean. The Japanese style common bath is... More
