Seaside hotel (EAST BLD) is newly opened in Dec 2019. All the rooms are Ocean View and the hotel is surrounded by old pine trees that are registered by UNESCO, so the view from the room is amazing. You can take a walk seaside and in the pain tree :) I recommend you to stay at least 2days. 1 night is not enough relaxation. DHC (Japan's big cosmetic maker) is running this hotel, so all the amenities you can use are DHC products. I loved especially their facilities, Spa, Gym, Pool. Outdoor-pool is opened during summer only. Rooftop-pool and indoor-pool are open the whole year and they both have a heating system so you can swim any season. Breakfast - Buffet ( Japanese & Western dishes) Spa - You can rent swimwear and use Spa from 5:30am-12:00am There are 4 kinds of Spa you can enjoy and heal our body. …
2nd night staying at Karatsu Seaside hotel. A suite with beautiful sea view. I can even saw the Karatsu castle from the balcony. The previous night we phoned up the hotel for picking up service at 12:00pm. We traveled from Hamasaki station to Higashi Karatsu Station, the representative was already there to greet us and send us back to Hotel. We did the registration and left our luggage there, went to sightseeing. Karatsu castle just 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Dinner was in buffet style (so so) but buffet breakfast was good! They will have an extension new building to be opened on 1st December, a great place to stay if you visit Karatsu!
My wife and I stayed in the hotel for a night in the fourth week of August. When arrived hotel staff warmly greeted us and carried our luggage. The check-in procedure was smooth and everything was well-explained and we were given cash coupons for the DHC shop. My room was a Japanese-western room with a stunning beach and sea view. A balcony is attached. The room is huge, bright, spotless, and apparently renovated recently. At first we found that the toilet flush button was not working and the front desk was informed. A courteous workman soon appeared and fixed the problem efficiently. Before dinner we used the onsen facilities and visited the beach. The onsen house is absolutely clean and well-equipped. However the outdoor onsen pool of the male section seems a bit small relative to the size of hotel. The vast beach could be accessed directly from the hotel podium (through a specific entrance with a shallow pool for feet washing), where a big swimming pool and a big BBQ site were situated. All constituted a perfect resort! My plan included half-board buffets. A fresh squid dish (a must-try local dish) was ordered at an extra cost of 4000-yen in dinner. The buffet food choice was not really extensive. However the dishes were really yummy and fresh. The grilled beef cubes were juicy and tender – the best I ever had in Japanese hotel buffets. As observed many hotel guests also preferred BBQ dinner even in a hot summer time. Due to its seaside location, there was no traffic noise. Sound insulation was excellent as nothing was heard from other rooms. The resort settings, rooms, food, services are all outstanding and explain the hotel’s top-rated position in Karatsu. I noticed that the hotel’s new wing has almost completed. I will use it again with my children in the future. I definitely recommend this resort hotel. …
Rooms are huge! Fantastic sea view in every room! Nice spa! Super good buffet breakfast! Good services! Newly decorated! Frankly, there is nothing more I would ask for. Lovely hotel! This is probably the best large hotel in the area. I would love to come back here again. It is just a short drive to the town. In 10 minutes, you will be in the bar/restaurant district. It is convenient enough and still offers a quiet seaside environment.
We are a family of four. We stayed in a traditional Japanese room that has a living and small dining area with tatami flooring. This room faces the sea with a balcony. The bathroom that comes with a bath tub also has a vast sea view. The room has many sliding walls that allow partitioning of the living and sleeping space in a very clever manner. The house keepers will come in in the evening to lay the futon beds for us to sleep and keep them in the closet in the morning. The hotel also has separate men and women common bath facilities (onsen) that face the sea. A small outdoor onsen with sea view is a very nice touch. The pool area on the ground floor next to the beach was closed when we were there due to cold weather. But we could imagine how nice it would be during summer. The hotel restaurant served fantastic breakfast. We got the chance to try many local dishes including steamed squid balls, tofu and pan fried beef strips Japanese style. Western style breakfast with runny scrambled eggs were available also. And my kids love the ice cream swirl. Yes. Ice cream was available for breakfast. I would have given this hotel an excellent rating if not for the following: 1. We had to call the front desk to ask for yukata (light cotton kimono to be worn while visiting the common bath) for our children after we settled in the room. The room booking was done at least a month ahead and the hotel was informed of our children's arrival. The yukata could have been prepared beforehand. Or proactively given to us while we checked in at the front desk. 2. The common baths would be closed for renovation from the second day of our stay onwards. Again, this info could have been proactively communicated to us when we booked through booking.com. We were given complementary tickets to use another common bath located elsewhere. Shuttle service was provided. …
