I have stayed in Karatsu for the next day yobuko trip. The hotel was under reconstruction so the view was affected. The bed is comfortable and very quiet, I had a very nice sleep. Breakfast is included for all guests, the variety is limited with only bread, rice and drink, a little bit disappointed. Karatsu Dai-ichi Hotel is definitely the best hotel in the city so I would recommend to stay here if you visit Karatsu, other hotel option is limited though
We had planned to stay 2 nights however, it was the night of the devastating earthquake so we left early the next morning. The hotel is a typical business hotel and in my experience although compact always very clean. Wifi was good and breakfast included. Parking was on site. Had it not been for the earthquake it was an enjoyable stay.
We enjoyed four nights at the Karatsu Dai-ichi Hotel in Karatsu, Japan. In typical Japanese style this hotel offers small, even compact, rooms with basic amenities. They offer on line service (take Ethernet cable) and a nice Japanese style breakfast with rice cakes, fruit, juices and pastries. The desk clerks remind you that you are off the tourist trail when they answer your questions in Japanese (no English speakers at the front desk). Our only complaint was the lack of a non-smoking room (all sold out apparently). Centrally located in the downtown of Karatsu, only blocks from the train and bus stations
