We stayed two nights in this fabulous yet understated resort. From the outside one can never guess how large the place is. The accommodation consists of different chalets, each unique in character. The piece-de-resistance is the open air private onsen located in the heart of the forest that is open for reservation. One is also spoilt for choice with the...

Love the house we stayed, love the environment, love the food so much as I like those different kinds of vegetables, the only thing is the portion can be smaller. Those Onsen are great! Someone said it is a bit pricy but I do think the Onsen, the food, their style and hositality worth it (and it is not the...

This ryokan has the best variety for Onsen! And they are all private Onsen. Both breakfast & dinner Are good, fresh & seasonal vegetables, although there are no choices! Location is a 5 mins taxi ride (yen$900/ trip) from YUfuin train station. We stayed in the basic room for 2N and its already very luxurious.

We stayed here for a second time, after 13.5 years, this time with 2 kids, 11 year old boy and 9 year old girl. The property was exactly as I remembered it, so green, peaceful and charming. I have stayed at numerous onsens in Japan (over 100) and this is one of the more memorable ones. Food is good, but...

My husband and I have stayed in many nice ryokans, all over Japan, and this has now topped our list! It felt like we had escaped to a tiny little village, with the abundance of trees, privacy and stone pathways. We stayed in Kan, which was the least expensive room at around 46,000yen for 2. All rooms stand alone. The...
