Stayed for a week in the Mare Takata. This hotel is definitely a step up from the standard business hotel. It's located on the bay of Maizuru and my room had a great view of the seafront and ferry terminal. The room was very spacious for Japan. The buffet breakfast was excellent, lots of variety and served in the restaurant...

Been here twice, great views of the harbor! Rooms where well maintained and the service was good. A bit of a language barrier if you don't speak Japanese but we were in Japan after all. A good choice for the traveler and close to the Navy Base if you happen to be heading there. Yes the jacuzzi tubs are great!

I've been coming to Hotel Mare Takata for almost 10 years - that's how much I enjoy it. The rooms are very well fitted out, with views over the harbour, or the mountains, the beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are big, by Japanese standards. For the little bit extra, it's worth taking a Deluxe room. All amenities are included...

Stayed four days for business. Hotel staff were very accommodating and room was clean. Good breakfast, but the dinner in hotel was just ok. Hotel is in walking distance to restaurants and grocery store around corner. The best part was the large Ofuru in the bathroom. Great way to start and end your day.

I have stayed here on occassion over the last 10 years. A good hotel in Maizuru. They are well used to looking after foreign guests. Comfortable room. Breakfast buffet with a wide choice. Westerners with an open mind will find something good to eat. Restaurant deserted in the evening.

I stayed here while on business in Japan. i was dubious about staying so far from civilization in a country with such different apporaches to language. If you are English such as myslef you will have to make allowances. for example signage and staff etc.. Apart from that i have to say the hotel is clean, well maintained, the staff...
