We arrived late at night in the dark, it was a pretty traditional place, not great but OK, we woke in the morning to an amazing view over a bridge over to a small island in the lake, unfortunately there was no food, so we got a bit hungry, but we were just staying for the night, the view from the bath was pretty good.

A small scale guest house in Kami, which is a small town with few shops and restaurants. The onsen was located just off the main road thus considered convenient (for self drive). All guest rooms (with Japanese tatami) were located upstairs with narrow corridor, thus we couldn't bring luggage up but pack some overnight stuff instead. Luckily parking was just outside complex, so we could retrieve things as often as we liked. We chose this Onsen as back up because our original booking was not operational after the recent typhoon. We managed to get a room with private toilet (while other rooms had to share toilet), common bathroom was a small size onsen (ideal for two people) with the necessary amenities. The onsen was on ground floor with a very short outdoor walk. We didn't have meal in Yumeno as we made our own arrangement. We were able to communicate in basic English and were presented a little gift upon check-out, which was a kind and warm gesture.
