First, apologies for using the term w/o speaking a word of Japanese. If not insulted, read on. As a practical matter, WG is extremely conveniently located near the Kagoshima airport--a 2200 yen/15-20 min. cab ride away. Having stayed in a number of different ryokan around Japan, Gajyoen is definitely one of the most memorable ones! I was fortunate to stay in this deluxe version of a traditional Japanese inn, or ryokan, in November.
