I booked a Japenese style room for one night. It faces the Sakurajima and the view is good. Meals are good but nothing special. Ladies can choose Yukata at the lobby and the one for men is placed in the room. I couldn't book the 赤松の湯, the most popular onsen even three weeks before my stay. I then booked the ひのきの湯 in the evening. I have a chance to take a look at the もみじの湯 and found that the environment of these two have no big difference except もみじの湯 has a very short fence in front of the onsen. They are next to each other. There is a short walk that take around 30 minutes (to and return)to a water fall. Definitely not suitable for elderlies and kids as the path is steep in some parts. It is enjoyable as you are just like walking through a forest. There are two public indoor and one outdoor onsen. The view is great. I went there at around 7:45am and I was so lucky that no one was using the outdoor one. I enjoyed for 10 minutes and more people came after 8:00am. Nearly eight of us in the onsen area. Overall, I have a great stay.

Thank you for your review. I am delighted that you enjoyed using our hotel. We are very pleased that you have enjoyed a comfortable stay at our hotel. Female customers can choose a 浴衣 with a nice pattern. If you spend your favorite yukata, you will feel comfortable and relaxed. In addition, the magnificent view of 桜島 from the open-air bath at the large public bath feels Extraordinary. I think that you could relax more in together with the quiet atmosphere in the morning. The area around the hotel is full of forest and is recommended for a walk. Walk about 15 minutes and you will see 花房 Falls. I'm really sorry that you can't use 赤松の湯 in the private outdoor bath. I am sorry that it is very popular and cannot meet your expectations. However, it was good that you enjoyed using ひのきの湯. Also please come to our hotel if there is a chance. We are looking forward to seeing you.

It’s high on the hill that caught the best view with best clarity of Sakurajima (the volcano) at daybreak! It’s absolutely exhilarating especially you grab a coffee at the balcony in the morning. Yet the bedsheets are not that clean that got bed mites or some kind of bugs bite on my legs which are so itchy that last for four days! Plus I have allergic rhinitis so I’m kind of dust-detector. This hotel gave me the most serious allergic reaction in the morning in Japan! Running & super stuffy nose is definitely not the first you want to enjoy at daybreak. The food was ok, bathrooms were ok but a bit worn out. Overall, it’s a budget hotel with best mountain view. Worth a try but won’t go again.

Thank you for your review. I am delighted that you enjoyed using our hotel. I am delighted that you enjoyed the wonderful scenery of Sakurajima and Kinko Bay in the rich nature and quiet environment of Kirishima during your stay at our hotel. We are sorry for the inconvenience of bed sheets. We are very sorry that you have not been able to rest comfortably. I apologize from the bottom of my heart. We are very surprised for the first time that allergies were caused by the influence of ticks. We always change to clean, clean bed sheets. Since there are concerns about the effects of insects such as mosquitoes during the summer heat season, I would like to take measures against them. We will try to improve so that the same will never be repeated.

Easy to find the hotel. We booked with dinner and breakfast. Both were decent enough food. We had a booking of a private onsen (you should pre-book) within the hotel, and whilst trying to change it to an outdoor onsen we were given two private onsen slots! Enjoyed both greatly. Saw the deer roaming around the grounds too which the kids enjoyed. We also trekked to see the waterfalls, which can be accessed near the outdoor onsen. Worth the trek too!

We booked this hotel in the spur of the moment with little research and just for one night. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. The service on arrival was excellent. We hadn't read our email where they offered to pick us up so we had walked up. It is a good exercise getting up the hill to the hotel but definitely worth it for the spectacular view. We stayed in a Japanese room which was very comfortable. The dinner included in the room fee was an absolute delight. Delicate and perfectly balanced flavors beautifully presented to a backdrop of a view to the volcano and cherry blossom in the garden. I have visited many hotels in Asia during our time here. This ranks among the absolute finest. It is small and intimate with excellent Japanese food. I would probably not take my kids here, other than that I can't really fault it!

Thank you for your review! It's our pleasure to serve you and we all feel glad that you like our hotel so much! Our view here is on the top of hill which is 2296 feet from the sea that could see the volcano clearly and it's worth getting up the hill to enjoy the view of cherry blossom this very season too. We're looking forward to your next visit and wish you a happy day!
