It was highlight of my trip to Japan. I'll speak of food first being a vegetarian. The breakfast was exuberant, rooms were traditional yet luxurious, staff courteous - Hotel gives you complementary kimono & geta sandals to try out. it was truly a magical experience.

Our second visit to Kinosaki Onsen. The Onsen in hotel is definitely better than the public bath associated with the Onsen pass. Hotel guest in this hotel could also visit the Onsen of the sister hotel as well as using the lounge. This hotel is more spacious. Comparing to other onsesn hotel, this is way above average. Food and service are good. The snow crab dinner in room is very nice.

Relaxing stay at this onsen hotel, booked a traditional Japanese room with private onsen. Stay included breakfast and dinner which were excellent and seafood heavy (it's a seafood city!). Rooms were some of the largest I've ever seen in the world, let alone Japanese standard, great for families. The service was superb and the hotel was well kept. The hotel is located at the end of the main street (maybe 2-3km walk end to end), there's a bus that takes you to and from the train station and the main street has lots to see. Something to note, the traditional rooms pack your beds away during the day, so if you are the type of person that likes to go home during the day to relax on the bed, it might be an issue but I'm sure there's a solution, wasn't a problem for me.

Dear menome, Thank you for your review and for visiting us in Kinosaki Onsen! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your time in our traditional hot spring town. For Japanese-style guest rooms the staff does prepare the futons at night and cleans them away the next morning, but if you would like to have a nap or relax in your futon during the day just let our staff know and we can prepare for you. We look forward to your next visit to Japan!!

Spend one night here during our 3 weeks in Japan.... Was definitely a stand out. Booked direct with Hotel - got special Internet deal which included private spa session and drinks vouchers. Everything ran very smoothly from shuttle at train station to check out. A large hotel - but didnt lack the little personal touches. Check in was friendly and efficient and we were shown to our room and had our Yakutas full explained. tried several of the hot springs - indoors and out doors and also enjoyed an hour private session in the private onsen. Dinner was served in our room - delicious - with very attentive service - every course fully explained. Breakfast is in a large dining hall - mostly Japanese - but a few western things. Overall a fabulous stay - would recommend.

This hotel is located quite a walk from the main streets of Kinosaki Onsen town (20 mins), however the hotel do provide free shuttle service around town. There are free parking service. The hotel itself I would say is more commercialized compared to the other traditional ryokans I’ve stayed at. There are many rooms, so there is not quite a boutique feeling to it, however there is still a luxurious touch it the place. The staff can speak good English, dinner is served in your bedroom (for me I didn’t like it being served like this because it made the room smell weird after). The staff is very nice and service minded. Rooms are great and overall we had a very comfortable stay.

Dear veeyadapip, Thank you so much for taking your time out to leave us a feedback! We really appreciate our guests comments as it helps us improve our services! If you are more keen to stay in a more traditional boutique style ryokan, I would recommend our sister ryokan called the Nishimuraya Honkan also located in Kinosaki Onsen. Unlike the comtemporary-traditional Shogetsutei, Honkan is a 160 years old ryokan with a rich heritage owned and passed down by the Nishimura family for 7 generations. Regarding the dinner issues, I am very sorry to hear that you felt discomfort having dinner served inside the room. For guests who do not wish to eat inside the room, we can arrange a private Japanese-style dining room upon request. Thank you once again for your kind feedback and contact us anytime for any inquiries. I look forward to seeing you again in Kinosaki Onsen and Nishimuraya!
