Mikuniya Ryokan is situated near the train station and not far from the main streets where all the other public bath and shops are. Most of the ryokan here does not include washroom in the room as you can bath in the public bath. Mikuniya have their own bath where you can book to use their facility in private (good...

We chose this ryokan due to the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. And it didn't disappoint. Booking was easy, via email and the ryokan responded promptly. They also accepted my booking six months before our visit, when most ryokans only opened their bookings three months prior. The ryokan also allowed single use of rooms during the November peak season while some...

We spent two relaxing nights here in October, dinner and breakfast included. After racing around Tokyo and Kyoto, it was a pleasure to relax in this little hot springs town. Our room included a Western table and small refrigerator. The low table set up on tatami mats was not uncomfortable because of the arm rests provided. The futons come out...

Stayed in the annex room with my wife and sister as part of a family trip. The location of Mikuniya Ryokan is very strategic as its just a few minutes walk from the Train Station. No shuttle required. Lots of shops along the street. You won't get lost walking as its a small town, but please be careful of traffic...

We wanted a classic Japanese experience on our family trip to Japan and this place didn't disappoint. The in room dinner was amazing as was the atmosphere of the hotel. Staff were cheerful and helpful and the location was great. Great memories here!

Having stayed at a small and very intimate ryokan in Takayama our first impression was that Mikuniya was very much a hotel. But luckily we were wrong. Everything about Mikuniya is as it should be. It is more than a guest house. But it still retains the guest house or ryokan feeling. The room was incredibly spacious. The hosts from...

From the time we step into Mikuniya till we check-out, we were greeted with an amazing Japanese hospitality 2nd none. Always wanted that "Japan Hour" experience. From taking the train along the countryside, the Ryokan, the amazing spread of dinner, the yukata, the Onsen, ... The staffs of Mikuniya really indeed made great effort to keep us happy & comfortable....

What an absolutely fantastic place to stay. It feels like you are staying in your best friends house. Everything is so comfortable, the staff are so friendly and the food is just magic. We stayed two nights and wish it had been 10! The Mikuniya Ryokan is an experience everyone should have. We stayed with two young children and nothing...

This Ryokan was nice and you should definitely get the experience while staying in Japan. Kinosaki is a small town and as you'll probably find other accommodations are expensive, which is why we chose this one. It's a decent Ryokan experience, but starting to look a bit well worn and dated. The bathrooms are definitely from the 70s. But, if...

We had a great time staying here. The breakfast and the dinner were fantastic, the onsen inside the house is perfect to relax and the traditional room is a wonderful experience. The town itself is really pretty with beautiful public onsens. Thank you for a wonderful stay, kind regards, Jenny & Eric
