A very relaxing stay. The property is very accessible and has its own onsen (2) which you can reserve upon check in. I prefer RAKU, the bigger onsen that they have. With the accommodation, you get free pass to all the 7 onsens in town and also complimentary use of yukata. They will help you with how to wear the...

Stayed 2 nights at Mikuniya and it was a wonderful experience: - Cosy room with tatami mats overlooking a snowy garden - Indulgent Kinosaki crab dinner with friendly server - Taoka-san, the director of the Ryokan was very informative and always willing to help. Gave us a good recommendation for sushi lunch - just across the road! And yes -...

After six hours of travel from Tokyo, receiving a warm welcome from the staff at Mikuniya was much appreciated. The staff was extremely friendly and kind. We received free yukatas, a pass for all the bath houses, and half board with our stay. My friend and I did not know how to properly wear our yukatas so the staff came...

The idea was simple, stay at a small onsen town and enjoy a traditional Japanese hotel. If you are after all of that, then Kinosaki Onsen is the perfect picturesque town while Mikuniya is a wonderful affordable option. On my arrival, I was welcomed with green tea, a Japanese treat, and explained how to use the Yukata provided by the...

Mikuniya Ryokan is located in the main street just 5 min from the train station, we choose this hotel to experience the traditional Japanese style, the hotel is old but the rooms are clean, no bathroom in the room, you need to use the onsen's bathroom, the hotel has the private onsen you can book to enjoy 1 hour personally,...

We wanted to experience a traditional ryokan and were very impressed by the experience. The owners and staff did all they could to make us feel comfortable and at home. Easy walk from the train station (we were greeted by a tourist representative at the station who gave us directions). Large room with tatami mats, futons, etc. It being winter...

Mikuniya Ryokan is situated near the train station and not far from the main streets where all the other public bath and shops are. Most of the ryokan here does not include washroom in the room as you can bath in the public bath. Mikuniya have their own bath where you can book to use their facility in private (good...

We chose this ryokan due to the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. And it didn't disappoint. Booking was easy, via email and the ryokan responded promptly. They also accepted my booking six months before our visit, when most ryokans only opened their bookings three months prior. The ryokan also allowed single use of rooms during the November peak season while some...

We spent two relaxing nights here in October, dinner and breakfast included. After racing around Tokyo and Kyoto, it was a pleasure to relax in this little hot springs town. Our room included a Western table and small refrigerator. The low table set up on tatami mats was not uncomfortable because of the arm rests provided. The futons come out...

Stayed in the annex room with my wife and sister as part of a family trip. The location of Mikuniya Ryokan is very strategic as its just a few minutes walk from the Train Station. No shuttle required. Lots of shops along the street. You won't get lost walking as its a small town, but please be careful of traffic...
