Mikuniya ryokan is located on the main road of Kinosaki Onsen, just a couple of hundred metres from the railways station. Check-in is from 3PM but even if I arrived earlier, I was able to drop my luggage there and roam around town. The main road is full of restaurants and eateries. The selection for women's yukata is good, while... More

We stayed 2 nights in the delightful village of Kinosaki Onsen at this excellent ryokan. I have nothing but positive things to say about the ryokan and the village. We selected this ryokan based on the good Tripadvisor reviews and the availability of rooms with private sinks & toilets. I called the owner, Mr. Shigeru Taoka, by Skype a couple... More

We stayed one night at Mikuniya Ryokan after a few weeks exploring Japan. We went specifically there for the reputation of the town, known for its many public onsen. We were very pleased with our stay at the Ryokan. The staff was attentionate, spoke English very well and the room, very traditional, was way above our expectations. We felt privileged... More

We stayed for two nights in Kinosaki-onsen, at the Mikuniya. It's a nice ryokan, located along the road that leads from the railway station to the main street that has a river running along the middle. It's about two or three minutes walk from both (two or three minutes in normal shoes, rather than geta which really slow you down!).... More

This is a treasure. High quality food both at dinner and breakfast. The best kind of service. Kind people all around. Beautiful Japanese style rooms. And all in romantic Kinosaki, where you put on your yukata and visit the public baths. Highly recommended.

We stayed here in July 2015 to get a taste of the Onsen and Ryokan experiences. It was perfect for both. Our room was huge (two rooms in one, actually), everything was perfectly clean and typically Japanese in style. All the staff were super friendly, our dinner (prepared in our room) was huge, tasty and colourful, with breakfast being equally... More

This hotel had the best service of all seven hotels we visited during our trip in Japan. The girl that served us most of the time had the best knowledge of english when compared to all other hotels we visited. So if you get her, take your chance and ask her all of the detailed questions that you probably couldn't... More

Lovely ryokan in a quaint hot spring town. The manager was kind enough to arrange my breakfast to have no meat and alcohol due to my religious restrictions. Private hot springs can be reserved on site for free. Service impeccable. Location excellent for walking around and enjoying the onsen town. Simply lovely!

We just spent two nights at Mikuniya in Kinosaki and it was one of the highlights of our two-week trip to Japan. The location is excellent in terms of proximity to the train station. It was a little farther to the main strip with most of the onsens (bathhouses),but really only an additional 5 minutes of walking (although those 5... More

We were a party of 6 (including a 5 year old toddler) and stayed for 2 nights. We stayed in this ryokan since they were running pretty full (only 7 rooms), they split us into 2 rooms in the annex building. One room was significantly larger than the other so it was used as the dinner room as well. The... More
