We really enjoyed our stay at Tsukimotoya and I would recommend it. But there are some things you should know before coming here. Kinosaki is expensive and on the whole overpriced, Tsukimotoya is one of the cheeper Ryokans in town, but I would consider it pricy for what is essentially a 3 star hotel at best. The place felt a... I stayed two nights this week , booked through booking.com costing about 57,000 yen, which included 2 meals .Cash only is accepted. It is about halfway between the train station and the ropeway station..Okay to walk if you have small bags.It is up a side street, so quiet. The onsen are a bit spread out so there is some walking... Was very grateful to Tsukimoto-san for taking the trouble to courier back my belonging which was left behind after a one-night stay. He took the efforts to communicate with me via email and to find the fastest way to send it back to me as I was travelling to other cities as well. I finally received the item back in... More

Kinosaki was a great overnight trip from Kyoto, and we enjoyed staying in this ryokan. We booked a standard non-smoking room. The room was big and clean, but it is the experience itself and the in-room dining that gives it the excellent rating. The dinner and breakfast were beautifully presented and far more food that we could possibly eat. We... More

As a couple (solo) traveller, we choose to visit Kinosakionsen as one of our tour destination. The trip was amazing, so many new experience as the first time traveller in Japan. Eventhough we had think that we were getting lost in Japan because of the trip, eventually it became our great experience. Arrived in Tsukimotoya Ryokan in almost in the... More

The Experience stay with Tsukimotoya Tyokan was wonderful. The room was big and clean. The meal provided was very traditional Japanese food, awesome homemade meals. The day when I visited Tsukimotoya Tyokan, I got high fever. The host helped us to arrange a taxi so we can go to the hospital. The host speak very fluent English- this helps us... More

Kinosaki is a beautiful onsen town to visit and our ryokan stay made it even better. Very attentive staff, all the traditions of staying in a ryokan that made it a great stay (greeting with tea, how to wear the yukata, passes for the town's onsen, preparing the room according to what was needed - tea, dinner, sleeping, breakfast). Do... More

We spent a wonderful night here as we enjoyed the onsen of Kinosaki - one of the highlights of our 3 1/2 week trip. The staff are warm and welcoming and although only speak limited English were very helpful. They collected our luggage from the tourist information office opposite the railway station so we could enjoy a stroll around the... More
