We had booked and pre-paid for 3 nights, but left after one, forfeiting $730 per night rather than stay. The hall smelled of smoke, there were numerous people in the halls, in the lobby and directly outside our room unmasked, and general level of cleanliness felt sub par. When I called to advise that someone was smoking on our floor they said they would send cleaners with air freshener. We had stayed in past and enjoyed but this visit felt Covid-unsafe and not very clean.

Westin Trillium House has an ideal location, just a short walk around the mill pond to the village. 10-15 minute drive to Collingwood. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful! Our one king bed room was spacious and clean. We love eating at Oliver and Bonicini restaurant located on the main floor of the hotel. This hotel is about 20 years old and there are some signs of that age. Nothing to cause any complaints but some signs of age such as base board trim that appeared to be due for repainting. During our stay we enjoyed some hiking at Blue Mountain. The outdoor pool area was quite nice but a little chilly in October. The hot tub was closed due to Covid. This was a bucket list stay for me and I would like to return someday in the future.

We have been coming here for years, and this time noticed a big difference in service and amenities. Not convinced that all is explained by COVID limitations. There was no sign of a concierge or anyone else at the front doors at any point. Saw dirty dishes lying in the hallway for hours before they were collected. Outdoor hot tubs have apparently not opened since first lockdowns/shutdowns. Unclear why as pool is open with only 10 persons allowed…hot tubs could be open and limited to one “social unit/room” it seems. Other Marriott properties have indoor hot tubs open. The pool is poorly lit within at night, lightbulbs need to be changed. The sauna and kids playroom remain closed. The decrease in service/amenities certainly has not led to change in room cost.

Dear amhHamilton, Thank you for this feedback, we understand your disappointment and regret your displeasure with a number of adaptations implemented in response to COVID. We continue to consult with our local health department in regard to our pool and hot tubs, and will continue to abide by the standards recommended to us by these authorities. We will inform our maintenance department of your concerns with lighting around the pool area and thank you for sharing this observation with us. I have stayed at the Westin Trillium a few times and enjoyed it every time. In fact I like the hotel a lot. This time I was surprised. My wife, 8 yearly daughter and 3 year old son stayed for 3 days in a loft suite. It was about $650 per night so we expected a decent room. It needs updating but that was ok. Our view was of a big dirt parking lot but that was ok too. When we got there it smelled like someone had left a Whopper in a garbage for a week.... again, ok. But at night... The mattress was concaved pretty bad and the air conditioner would come on every 6-10 minutes and sounded like a guy fixing his snowmobile in a garage. Extremely loud. Also, get ready for a lot of the shops to be closed in the village. Not the Westin's fault but there is a lack of staff surrounding them. This review may sound deceiving because. actually really like this hotel. I would just recommend that if you book something as a traveller do not pay for the loft. The 1 and 2 Bedrooms are amazing. Also don't get your hopes up of walking around with a Starbucks through the village because Starbucks is not open until Friday. Westin staff was very helpful and doing the best they can.

Birthday celebration at this lovely resort. The staff were great and very accommodating and the resort adheres to covid protocol. A wonderful family environment which accommodates to everyone. The rooms are clean and spacious. Great food in The Village. The Village has a variety of activities but strongly recommend purchasing a day pass early. We would love to return in the winter.
