Let me start with the positives: the owners are very nice. They'll pick you up from the ferry station and drive you up the windy roads to the ryokan. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. One of the reasons I chose this place was they were able to accommodate my gluten free diet. In retrospect, I would have stayed... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is fantastic. It is inside the park. It feels secluded, yet it's a quick walk to the ropeway and to the main part of town. It is family owned and our hosts were lovely. They made every effort to help us enjoy our stay. We were picked up upon arrival at the... More

Extremely kind hosts, who do their best to make you feel at ease. Although they speak only a very few words of English there is hardly a block to communicate and get all the info you need for Miyajima and the Ryokan. You have to reserve, but we had a delicious Japanese dinner at the Ryokan.

We stayed here for one night. The husband and wife are extremely welcoming and though they don't speak any English they try very hard to please you and are very friendly. It really feels like you a staying in their home as opposed to a hotel. The moment we walked in we were greeted with tea and traditional cake, we... More

Wonderful. I ended up traveling alone and they were so kind as to make an exception when normally the ryokan doesn't accept solo guests. The place is peaceful and wonderful, clean and beautiful, the owners were very nice. I recommend this ryokan, I wish I could've stayed longer!

Momijo-so is the only ryokan in the heart of the park leading up to the ropeway. It doesn't look like much from the outside, certainly not as nice as other Ryokans we saw on the island, which is a pity because the rooms are absolutely exquisite. Beautiful cases, screens and immaculate furnishings - this is really a very well maintained... More

I visited this cute little ryokan two years ago and have to say the pictures do not do it any justice. The blankets/quilts were the softest I have ever felt - I need to know what type of duvet this is!!! If anyone finds out, please please let me know as it felt like sleeping with clouds. The room is... More

Wonderful food, super comfy beds, extremely friendly and helpful hosts. We will return one day!! The location is perfect, quiet and away from the tourist hub but a very short walk into town - an evening walk by torch light is a must! The ropeway is a short walk also. Just perfect.

Momiji-so was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. The owners were so friendly and accommodating. Our room was gorgeous and spacious with a lovely view. The bedding was so comfortable, I didn't want to leave! Dinner and breakfast was delicious with many courses. I struggled to finish. Location was ideal at the foot of the ropeway... More

The 100 years old house (as informed by the owners) is the last building before the mount Misen ropeway in the Momiji Dani park. We were the only guests that night (just 6 rooms) so we had all the attention of the husband and wife hosts. Large traditional Japanese room of 12 tatami size (about 18 sqm) with a terrace... More
