The last time we visited the Auberge Watanabe it poured and poured rain for our entire visit. (We still had a great time due to our lovely hosts.) This time, the weather was much better and we got to explore much more of MIyajima. There was plenty to do here for the two nights we spent this time, and our...

We were 3 travelers sharing the large Japanese style room, which was more than enough space located in the upstairs of this beautiful inn. Our suite had a lovely bath tub, separate toilet, living room, second sleeping room, and porch. The dinner was a real delight, every course was lovely, especially the local specialty fish cooked simply in soy sauce...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Watanabe Inn for one night, and it was lovely. Upon arriving at Miyajima we had been instructed to speak to Information so that the Inn could come pick us up from the pier. The manager was lovely: he spoke English well and engaged in Japanese with me upon learning I had some knowledge of...

This was our first visit to Japan and we had stayed in one ryokan and not been very excited by the experience. But the Watanabe Inn was like a 5 star hotel in comparison. As all the reviews say, the family are really welcoming and make you feel at home. The accommodation is extremely comfortable- we had a very large...

We were once again greeted warmly by the Watanabe family. How fortunate we are to have had the opportunity to return to magical Miyajima...like returning home! Our rooms in this quiet and quaint inn were so comfortable and kept impeccably clean. My furo baths were exquisite! I could have stayed in my room, not left the inn, and been completely...

We were picked up from the ferry by the owner. He drove us to the inn and his wife made us very welcome. It was before check in so we dropped our bags and went for a walk. Mrs Watanabe gave us some tips and a map. The ryokan is immaculate very comfortable and great amenities. The food ( dinner...

We had a magical experience at the Watanabe Inn. We checked in around 3PM after hiking Mt Misen and did not leave til we checked out the next day. With the beautiful room (we stayed in the Momiji room), amazing cyprus bath, and great views of the autumn leaves with water running nearby - why would we want to! The...

My friend and I thought that our Autumn Japan trip needs to be completed with a ryokan experience, and we were right. This became one of our most memorable stay, as well as highlight of the trip. We were looking through a list of Ryokans to book for Miyajima and then we came across with Watanabe Inn. I guess you...

We had an excellent experience at this Ryokan. The owners worked so hard to make every facet of our stay special - it was the highlight of our trip to Japan. The food was amazing and the attention to detail was just fantastic. We loved it.

Great attention to detail with a personalised service. The owners (and staff) of Watanabe Inn always went that little bit further to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. From the welcoming drink with traditional "pancake" biscuit after collecting us from the ferry terminal, to arranging a rickshaw tour of the island for us. The dinner and breakfast included as part...
