Firstly, we found the service to be excellent. Very welcoming and helpful (as is typical in Japan!) The location is also extremely convenient. However, beyond that we were quite disappointed. We'd expected it to be a bit smaller and more intimate but it actually feels like a larger chain hotel. Can't believe it was refurbished in 2009! The ryokan was... More

Convenient to the station but that's all that the ryokan really had going for it. Service wasn't great which is disappointing as Japanese people know how to offer great service. The rooms were ok but beds not comfortable (and we've stayed at great ryokans previously) and quite cold. Food was also disappointing with very little that we could eat. Also... More

A literal stones throw from the ferry-- this ryokan was a relief from the craze of people outside. We had the keiseki (set dinner) and wow did we love it! We had an amazing waitress, Yoko, who spoke very good English and loved our attempts to speak Japanese. Really recommend the meal as they explain all the dishes (local ingredients... More

I just stayed in this inn with my family of five. The inn is just un front of Miyajima island ferry terminal and it is certainly very convenient if you have many bags to carry. We were given a traditional Japanese tatami room. The room is well kept and clean. We opted for dinner and breakfast. Both were very good.... More

The best place I stayed intravelling Japan. Located right at ferry station on the island of Miyajima it offers quiet comfortables rooms for Euro 50 with a traditional Japanese spa. a Yukata (simply kimono) is provided for the stay and Japanese guests wear them through out the hotel and even on their evening walks. when the masses of tourists have... Our family of five spent our last night in Japan here. We left our bags at check in and had the day exploring this gorgeous island. The hotel is straight across the road from the ferry. We had a traditional dinner and western breakfast, wore the supplied kimonos and enjoyed the baths as well. Everyone sleeping together in the one... More

Some English spoken by front desk staff and very good service. Staircase in the loft style room is quite steep and narrow. Those don't live in Asia might find it tricky to climb up and down. Onsen bath had very high chlorine content. Very nice Japanese breakfast.
