We stayed for 4 nights in Pellegrini and Hugo was a star from the start. He picked us up from Posadas and we all endured a gruelling 6 hours drive on “muy difficile” roads. Despite the language barrier, we were able to have basic conversations and organise a bus out of town with Hugo’s wife. We’re both vegetarian and Hugo helped us on our first night when we were tired from the journey, and then recommended food restaurants to us from there on. WiFi wasn’t great, but the ample wildlife of Ibera totally made up for it! We cannot thank this family enough for making our trip so memorable!

We booked via booking.com and were able to pay by credit card (took a bit of persistence though as they wanted US dollars first). It's a nice place to stay; clean and comfortable. Each room has an ensuite. We stayed in a 4-bed dorm which consisted of 4 single beds, so no need to climb any rickety ladders to get to a top bunk! The room was spacious, there is a a fan or heater if needed. Hot showers, just let the water run for a few minutes for the hot water to arrive. Wifi not the best but it is middle of nowhere, at least there is wifi to start with! Breakfast included and was simple. No kitchen, they didn't offer food when we were there so had to go out. Supermarket nearby is actually not bad. The hostel can arrange excursions for you. No English, good for practicing Spanish! Owners very lovely.

We loved our three days at the posada. Hugo and his family are very kind. They helped us find our feet organising tours around the park and even an English speaking guide. Hugo drove us to restaurants as there was mucho rain on the roads. We needed to get to posadas and Hugo organised our lift and came along for the ride...even though the roads were very muddy and the journey took even longer then normal. In posadas Hugo and his friend helped us to find an atm and made sure we were on the right bus too. I would love to stay here again

We spent one night in the posada. Given the limited time that we had, we wanted to arrange the boat trips and other activities straight away after we arrived. Hugo, the owner of the place, listened to what we wanted to do and said he would organize everything for us. He also offered to drive us to the information center where the walking trails start, which we really appreciated as it was very hot that day. Hugo then also offered to wait for us near the information center to drive us back to the posada, but we decided to walk back instead. He also organized boat trips for us ( they were wonderful) and gave us some tips regarding the places to eat. Next day we had the breakfast (a typical Argentinean breakfast with toasts and croissants - don't expect eggs or bacon). After we checked out we walked a little bit in the village, had lunch and then Myrta (Hugo's wife) allowed us to use our room again (we wanted to take a shower) at no extra charge. All in all, the room was pretty basic, nothing special here, but no problems either. The hospitality of Hugo and Myrta was just outstanding!

Outstanding hospitality, wonderful hosts and good cooks, Hugo was most obliging, offering to drive us to various birding spots around ibera at only the hours birdwatchers would request, bikes available for cheap rental too. Great value and homely accomadation, couldn't recommend highly enough!
