We were three friends that stayed in a standard room on the upper floor at Club Fred. We booked directly with Ellie the day of and were thrilled with the place. She gave us good directions on how to arrive (do not go into town but turn LEFT uphill onto dirt road just before entering). Our room was huge, had...

Professionally ran and more of a home than a hotel, which I prefer because that is what I do back in England. Spotlessly clean throughout, well maintained and tastefully decorated. A pleasure to be here. Great views of the coast. Well done Ellie.

The attention by Ellie the owner is excellent. You can enjoy a great view to the ocean from the pool. Also; she can help you to coordinate one day tours to different national parks or whale watching that is a the major attraction of the area. As this is a lodge at the mountain and rain a lot, it is...

Very affordable and clean rooms. Entrance to the Lodge is via a steep dirt road dotted with boulders and potholes, which can be a little troublesome for some vehicles but not impossible. There isn't a view of the sunsets from the rooms or pool area but if you walk down the hill a little and exit the property you will...

This is a very nice place, very quiet, close to a lot of beautiful beaches, with a very polite and friendly staff. It has a very nice pool and a gorgeous view, i would say that is it's main atraction. Access is not that easy, rooms are very standar and simple, but clean

Club Fred is the best bang for your buck if your into an active South Pacific Vacation. Wonderful owners, awesome views, wildlife, infinity pool, kayak tours all at a very reasonable price. Gives you access to Beach Club which has nicest private beach in area. I just worry that when the word gets out it will drive prices up. I have stayed many...

This venue was well run by the site manager who was very helpful but gave us space to enjoy our holiday. He was knowledgable about the local area but also other parts of pacific coast. The rooms were very clean, plenty of hot water and towels. Beds were also comfortable, clean and kitchen well stocked with utensils. Most of all...

We stayed at Club Fred for one night on our way from Osa to Maunel Antonio. We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. Our room was large, had a little kitchen type area and attached bath. The pool was great and had an amazing view! Wi-fi as well as breakfast was included. We also had use of the kitchen. My...

Second visit with Fred for kayaking, and enjoyed both experiences. His place overlooking the rio terraba delta has great views, a nice pool and basic accommodation at reasonable prices. A couple of cabinas added recently. Kayak trips are for experienced kayakers on sit-ons. First one was on the ocean to Isla Ballena with snorkelling, a hard slog including some surf...

We had the fortune of reserving a terrible cabin somewhere else, hated it and started driving around to see where we could stay for the next few days. Club Fred was recommended by a guy that had no space in his mountain top villa. Amazing views, kitchen!, and although my husband and I are not usually the ones to hang...
