As soon as we arrived, the apartment was beautifully clean with amazing views! The hosts are very friendly and helpful. It is within easy reach of the national park and barac caves. A short drive away is Rastoke, a village built on waterfalls. There's a supermarket just up the main road and the apartment is fully kitted out for self catering. Comfy beds, nice sofa, sunny balcony, large bathroom with loads of towels!
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone hoping to explore the area.

This is more like a family owned pension than a hotel, and we found it charming. We stayed in the well equipped family room with 3 beds. Personally I had some issues with the mattress on the double bed insufficiently supporting my body (too soft in the middle), so I traded beds with my son, and slept on the single bed (couch) for one night. It is possible to get breakfast at 7:30 in the morning, but we had our own on the peaceful porch outside. The pension is close to entrance 1 and 2 of the national park Plitvice, and for us it was great for a stay-over for a next day visit to the national park. The family's daughter works in the national park, she speaks English well, and is happy to provide suggestions for the visit to the park. We recommend going early (arrived in the park at 8:30 AM) to avoid the huge crowd entering after about 10:00 AM. Also, go directly to parking 2 and ignore the ticket office at the parking lot (and the queue there), but walk to the park entrance. In the building opposite of the entrance one can buy tickets too, and there was no long queue there (when we were visiting anyway). At the entrance we took a bus for track H, and walked it until the boat. It can be walked easily, even with sandals, and halfway there is a possibility to shorten the trip if fatigue, the crowdedness, or heat gets overwhelming. We had a great stay in the area this way and recommend the pension as good value for money.

House Jelena is a family run -small guest house. It is off the main road, but GPS/SatNav
can find or Jelena will send instructions.
Clean, efficient and friendly. If visiting Plitvice Lakes/Waterfalls, absolutely wonderful, even in August plenty of water. I would suggest at least 2 days at Pitvice and 1 day at Slunji/Rastoke only 8 kms away for further Water Falls and features.
Good Sleep and Wi-Fi worked very well.
Good Restaurants near-by.
You need transport !!!!!

Loved our 2 night stay at House Jalena. We stayed in the ground floor room with a separate entrance. The room had everything we could want for a short stay and was neat and clean. The owner was kind and friendly. The parking space was much appreciated. So was the breakfast we opted for. Special mention goes to the delicious homemade plum jam...so good!

We had a little outdoor patio space to relax in and were visited by the feisty little house kitten every once in a while for play time.

Around a 10 minute drive to Plitvice National Park (having our own rented car was super convenient) and staying close by meant we had the advantage of visiting early morning and evening when crowds had thinned.

We had the nicest time and would definitely recommend House Jalena.

P.S. Another tip. We drove nearby to Restoran Degenija for an awesome dinner. Great restaurant!

A wonderful guest house! Jelena and her family are excellent hosts and make every effort to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible.

The rooms are very comfortable and clean (we stayed in Room 2 which has a balcony) as well as being well appointed. There is a convenient kitchen and very large fridge if you wish to self cater.

The house is about 5km from entrance 1 and 1km from nearest restaurants and shops. We didn't have a car so Jelena and her husband let us borrow bikes for transport. We were picked up from the bus (ask to be dropped off at Čatrnja) and dropped back there to catch the 9.10 bus to Split. It is, however, only 700m away if you can be bothered to carry bags!

The breakfast was delicious and enormous with fresh eggs from the garden and homemade jam.

We just couldn't recommend House Jelena any more!

Very clean and comfortable with a shared kitchenette. Jelena and her family were very welcoming and had excellent advice on local attractions and restaurants. It was fun to sit on the balcony and watch the daily routines of the farm. The local restaurants were busy but delicious and although not really close we found them a nice walking distance. The road in not lit all the way but we never felt lost or worried en route and the dark areas only made the stars shine brighter. What a wonderful relaxing abode. By car we were only minutes away from the park gates, the Bat Caves and Slunj/Rastoke - all very interesting attractions.

We were two couples traveling together and had a very enjoyable stay for one night. It was clean and in a quiet neighborhood. Helena was very helpful and gave us tips for seeing the park during high season. Breakfast was good and included eggs from their hens and homemade jam. Would definitely recommend; also has a small kitchen travelers can use.

A perfect accomodation with extremely friendly hosts. Room rather simple but everything was available and in good working condition. Excellent was the breakfast served on our terrace with a little flower on the linnen covered table, orange juice, bread, home made jam, fine coffee and scrambled eggs from the farm across the House Jelena. Indeed, a memorable stay also due to its serenity.

Is a house guest of just 4 room, 10 min driving from Piltvice Nat Park entrances, in a quiet place, surrounded by nature, flowers and small birds ... we were received by a little kitty and the owner of the house, huge room, with all that you need, to spent 1 night and sleep like a kings. No breakfast or any meal, but there are the best restaurants just 5 to 10 min away ... you can walk or drive.

We arrived to the parks early morning and then drove 10 minutes to House Jelena. The place is run by a family and they're outstanding. Very nice and helpful. They have parking space and they're not far from a very nice restaurant down on the main road (only 20 minutes away walking).
Breakfast was good and the room was super comfortable. It's in the middle of farm country and is very quiet.
