Don't be fooled by its looks. It was a very bad experience. The room was full of moisture and humidity, bugs, the curtain was broke and didn't even covered all the window, so the light wasn't blocked at all. There was also a fan in the bathroom that didn't turn off, even with all the lights off, so if you need silence to sleep... Bad news. The bed sheets had stains and you could feel the humidity in the pillows. We paid for 3 nights in advance, and when we complained about the room, and they said that there wasn't any other one available, we asked immediately to cancel the other 2 nights and asked for a refund. The owner never showed any interest on the problem and took us 4 phone calls (with a police warning) to get our money back. We still paid for the one night we HAD to stay there. The room also had no TV, even though there was TV in the room pictures. Oh, and the breakfast was one of the poorest we ever had. An experience not to repeat for sure.

Despite being a guest in the high season and, because of that, willing to pay a premium, the stay at Utopia (that's what it's now called) was nothing short of disappointment. From the first day there were problems with the cleaning (missing towels, poor cleaning…) and the breakfast was close to appalling. My previous experiences in stays at the Vicentin Coast were completely different with homemade delicacies, natural products and a wide variety. Here nothing of that exists. The service also has its insufficiencies as the poor girl seemed that she could only carry one bowl in each trip to the kitchen… And beware of plastic chips in your yogurt! Maybe one reason for the poor service is that most of the tasks are done by volunteers that trade a place to stay during their holiday by doing these tasks. So, if they’re on holiday who can blame them for not being that interested in working?! One positive word for the reception ladies that were always kind and helpful. Bottomline, if you have another place to stay other than Utopia, don’t think twice.

This is a guest house closer to a proper hotel. Rooms are large, with balcony or with the direct access to the garden. It is super clean. With a very pleasant swimming pool. They serve a good breakfast with many things (cheese, eggs, ham, bread, cereals, fresh fruit, jam, juices, cakes...). Bathroom has hairdryer and soap. However I suggest to bring your shower gel and shampoo because they offer just small pockets of shower gel. There is a fridge in the main room where you can keep your staff for lunch. This is a good option if you travel with family, kids or with friends and you want a cozy, safe, clean place where to stay. The breakfast is served from 8.30 and it is a small issue if you surf. However the staff was nice to offer the opportunity to get breakfast a little bit earlier to be able to reach the surf school on time.

an unkept and unfinished, done on the cheap look all round the property. staff far too laid back and non bothered. don't volunteer for any help or info. rooms large but absolutely no furniture some twigs and make shift shelf and lighting. bathroom has mold and a cheap unfinished appearance with slapstick silicone. The "garden" and whole surrounding lacks attention. noisy rooms, concrete jungle. located outside Aljezur on a relatively new residential estate without any restaurants, supermarket, bar, beach. overpriced £100/ room- we call them up and they charged us booking.com prices as well

Rented for the day between local house rental and the flight - had to book a room for the night at full rate but reasonable for a group of 5 to brush up from the beach, have a swim, shower and change - useful location and helpful staff

We had a lovely one night stay at this charming hotel with excellent staff and first class facilities. Our room was white washed minimalist style - perfect for the location - with fabulous driftwood signs giving recipes for life outside the doors. A huge swimming pool and a nice walk to a beautiful surfing paradise.

My boyfriend and I spent one night here on our road trip up Portugal. We really loved the place, the room was spacious compared to previous accomodation, the bathroom was nice, the outdoor courtyard on each bedroom was a nice spot to sit in the sun. We played tennis with the rackets they had for free use, swam in the pool and had a delicious buffet breakfast in the morning. We enjoyed the place, but I think you'd need a car to stay here as it isn't near any restaurants or the beach ( but only a 5-7min drive to the beach). Would recommend

I would like to point out, that this Guest House is overpriced for what it offers: Mold in the bathroom. No space, almost no furniture in the rooms. No TV, no Fridge, no Bar (in the whole Location). Dirty and old/dirty Pool without and decoration and sun shades. The "garden" and whole surrounding is ugly and partially ragged. It is noisy as hell in the rooms. People were arriving during the whole of our second night, being extremely loud. The last loud group arrvied around 06:00. The paper thin walls were no advantage in that scenario. Sewage was blocked or something on one of our two days we stayed there. It was smelly because of that. Also our room was not cleaned when we arrived after 17:00 for which they said sorry. There is also a tennis court which seems to be in no good condition as far as I can tell. The location is outside of Aljezur in some kind of residential zone without infrastructure (no restaurants, no supermarket, no bar, et cetera). Breakfast was okay, WiFi ist good, the overall interior style is also likeable, even though it has more of a hostel charakter since build quality is not the best and many things seem to be improvised. Staff is friendly but a bit too laissez-faire for what they try to sell. Prices are at least 50 percent more than one could charge for this/the place has to offer. They were also pretty annoying, because it took tjem three atempts to charge our stay in advance, even though our credit card information was correct. For that they contacted us several times before we didn't even arrive there. Would not recommend for more than about 60-80 EUR per night. We paid almost 120.

Perfect location: quiet but not far from everything. Nice 30 meters long swimming pool, tennis court and plenty of space to park your car. Delicious breakfast buffet, inside or outside. Very nice people at reception desk. Feels very cosy.
