Haven’t experienced better service in my 25 years of living. Mick and Tammy went above and beyond to make our Myoko experience memorable. The place is pristinely clean. Great location and Michael gives us lifts to the slopes which is a game changer. The best part was we were treated to a free Shabu Shabu dinner to celebrate a mates birthday which was the best meal we’d had in Japan. Thanks again for a memorable stay and looking forward to returning.

I stayed at Myoko Mountain Lodge in late Jan-early Feb on a ski trip with friends. It was absolutely perfect - I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Tamami and Mike are such generous, helpful and thoughtful hosts, and great company as well. They were very helpful in getting us to different resorts and providing advice on lift passes and terrain. They’ve got it all covered and have thought of everything, down to the equipment you’ll need for walking around town during your stay. The lodge is comfortable and spotless with a really cosy communal area (great for meeting other guests) and the food was fantastic. Not to mention the lovely baths after a day on the slopes! Would absolutely recommend the lodge to anyone. Thanks Tamami and Mike for such a wonderful time.

Tamami & Michael are superb hosts! They create such a warm and inviting atmosphere at Myoko Mountain Lodge; it makes you want to never leave. The Lodge is very clean & comfortable and has the most amazing bedding in the Japanese style room. The amenities provided in the shower are luxurious, and after a soothing soak in the tub, the lounge is a great place to unwind and sample the local sake, beer & wines from the well-stocked mini-bar. Tamami is an absolute whiz in the kitchen, serving up gourmet, homemade meals for breakfast & dinner. And Michael's hospitality goes above & beyond with his door-to-door shuttle services around the village. My husband & I had such a heavenly stay at Myoko Mountain Lodge, and we can't wait to stay again soon.

Just back from my 4th stay at Myoko Mountain Lodge - and already planning trip number 5. Hosts MB and TB go out of their way on a daily basis to spoil their guests - serving a delicious Japanese or Western breakfast each morning, then ferrying everyone to their chosen ski resort for the day and booking local restaurants for dinner or preparing fabulous evening meals 3 or 4 nights a week. The guest rooms are warm, spotlessly clean and wonderfully cosy - and the downstairs lounge/dining room is a great place to catch up with other guests over a beer, wine or sake from the well-stocked fridge, or somewhere to relax and read a book on a rest day. Myoko Mountain Lodge is like a home away from home and I'm already looking forward to visiting again next year.

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful - Michael and Tamami were so welcoming. The room was great - big windows looking over the snow, and having it's own heat pump meant that whilst the rest of there lodge was lovely and warm, we could keep our room cooler for sleeping - I slept really well! Bathroom facilities were Onsen style and the amazing baths were very soothing after a day on the slopes. The ambiance and relaxed feel of the lodge was just great - really laid back , great music playing all the time, great communal living area so lots ofopportunity to mingle with the other guests and share stories. Everyone seemed to be of a like mind and lots of connections were made. As for the food - WOW! Tamami and Sakura are great cooks - the Japanese style evening meals every other evening are a must! Do not miss! Great big breakfasts too, coffee and fruit, and on my birthday Tamami thoughtfully gave me a cake with candles!! Michael's, local knowledge and attention to detail is second to none , he really was very mindful of everyone's safety after a big snow dump, very witty, great stories to share and wicked sense of humour - I am still regretting not taking his advice on a local eatery but there is always next time ! The lodge was only a short walk to several ski fields, the village of Akakura Onsen, and had wonderful views of Mt Myoko , very quiet , and only a short and easy drive from Nagano. We will definitely be returning!

The best winter escape I could've asked for. Tamami and Michael are such caring and thoughtful hosts; the lodge had a beautiful warm atmosphere in the thick of the snow. I travelled solo and they took such good care of me - making sure I was warm and cozy to providing such an amazing spread for breakfast and dinner (if you make reservations in advance). Oh and the hot bath was wonderful! :)

Loved our stay here. The lodge is really nice, warm, comfortable and felt like a home from home. Michael and Tamami were great hosts, the food was superb, and great background music playing in the lodge :-) Best of all they were really welcoming towards snowboarders, which isn’t always the case, so if you are a family of boarders, definitely consider myoko mountain lodge ! Myoko in winter was amazing. Some of the best snow we have ever ridden. Will definitely return. Hopefully soon. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Staying here made a great holiday even better.

Best lodge in Myoko. Great hosts, great food, and the lodge is warm, very clean and well maintained. We have stayed a number of times in various rooms and all are super comfortable and clean. Excellent hot baths for recovery from a hard day on the slopes, and a great atmosphere in the main room for dining, drinking, and chilling out with fellow guests. Super fast WIFI throughout and no problem streaming video and working.

Just back from an awesome ski trip to Japan. During the trip I spent a week staying at Myoko Mountain Lodge after receiving a personal recommendation. Michael and Tamami are very knowledgable hosts and worked tirelessly to make my stay comfortable and exciting. Tamami's Japanese dinners were a high light and Michael was always ready to shuttle us around the resorts. Will definitely stay again should I find myself in Myoko again.

I stayed here with my cousin while we were in the area to ski. Our room was about the size of a dorm room, with a set of bunk beds, reading lights, a dresser, a full-length mirror, and a place to hang your clothes. The comforters on the beds are so soft and warm. The toilets, sinks, and showers are communal, but were very clean, and sharing with others was completely fine. Shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, and hairdryers are provided. There's a common area where guests gather in the evening for card and board games and conversation. A hot breakfast is served in the common area every morning. There's a room to keep ski and snowboard equipment and dry out your wet ski clothing. Akakura Onsen, the closest ski resort, is a short drive away. Michael (Australian) and Tamami (Japanese), the owners, speak English and were very hospitable. Tamami recommended restaurants in the area and made reservations for us. Michael brought my suitcase out to my car when I departed. Tamami ran up to my room to bring me my coat when I had forgotten it. Michael and Tamami take a picture of each guest that stays there to keep in their guest book. What I liked best about my stay was the hospitality of Michael and Tamami and also the opportunity to hang out with the other guests, because it's such a communal atmosphere. You would not find that at a regular hotel. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would stay there if in the area again.
