Our stay here in February was a delight. Ricky and Kate, as have been mentioned in other reviews, were consistently helpful. I was sorry to have to leave our most comfortable and well appointed room early because my father was ill and received the most caring and efficient help to do so. Breakfast in house provided everything we wanted.

Mrs H and I just returned from a fantastic couple of weeks in Myoko Kogen, staying at the Address Akakura, and couldn't be more impressed with the property, and the incredible hosts Kate and Rick. The hotel itself is located right in the heart of Akakura town, easy walking to everything this charming town has to offer - great little restaurants, bars, and a bit of shopping. It's only a short downhill walk to the main lift at Akakura Onsen ski area, and very easy to get around. If you do want to go and explore other local ski areas then the staff at the Address Akakura are happy to drop you off and pick you up - it's only about a 10 minute drive to Suginahara, and 20 mins or so to Madarao, Tangram, and Lotte Arai, so you can use Akakura Onsen as a base and take your pick depending on what the weather is doing. The welcome pack on arrival was terrific, with bacon, eggs, bread, tea, coffee and milk all ready for us in the fridge so we didn't have to worry about shopping for food on the first day. The complimentary local wine and sake hit the spot, too! The Address also has a heated ski room, washer/dryer area, and a very welcome onsen in the basement which we used every day. There is also a cafe (great coffee!) and a sushi restaurant on site which makes it easy if you don't feel like going out. We ate there three times and it was great. Unfortunately Mrs H tore a muscle pretty badly and ended up on crutches, but our hosts couldn't have been more helpful - even arranging an interpreter to come with us to the hospital. When we managed to get an earlier flight home at short notice Kate amazingly reorganised her day to drive us all the way down to Tokyo - a huge return trip for her - which was a godsend. Thanks Kate and Rick, and to all your staff for an incredible stay. Hope you guys got some late season powder days in! Dave & Rochelle - Sydney

This review is a little delayed due to work commitments but nevertheless it needed to be written ! We arrived in Myoko to accomodation so below an acceptable standard that we were trying to get a driver to get us out (not possible) as luck would have it we went for a coffee at an inviting cafe to find they were also Adress Akakura .. they listened with genuine sympathy to our predicament and just happened to have the next 5 nights available due to a cancelation , they showed us around and we booked immediately this was only the beginning of the owners Rick and Kate’s hospitality. After enduring one night in our accommodation from hell they collected us and we settled in to a great stay. We couldn’t fault anything the apartments are fabulous , large comfy and with great bathrooms as well as a fabulous Onsen with beautiful local toiletries supplied. All of their staff were professional yet relaxed. The cafe turns into an inviting bar of a night and their restaurant is first class. They were so helpful with our departure including organising our luggage to meet us at the airport so we didn’t have to drag our ski gear around Tokyo ! Thank you for being such inviting hosts and congratulations on a first class offering

Stayed here in March 2019. Ricky and Kate the owners are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and well laid out with really comfortable beds. We got a great deal by going direct to them via their website. Onsite is both a lovely Japanese restaurant and a great cafe with excellent coffee and breakfast. Convenience store across the street makes life easy too. In summary; if you are going to stay at Akakura, you cannot go past staying at The Address. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Address Akakura. What makes this accommodation work so well, are the owners / hosts Kate & Rick and their staff. Rick & Kate have created a comfortable, clean and stress free place to stay whilst in Akakura. The accommodation itself is very comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the special touches like breakfast supplies in the fridge on arrival and lovely essential oil based bathroom amenities. Also very appreciative of the free laundry facilities provided. We ate at the 'Samuri' onsite restaurant most evenings, and thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the excellent service from the waitstaff. Possibly one of the highlights of staying at Address Akakura, is that transport is provided free (unless travelling a long distance, and then a very moderate charge), to most of the 7 local ski fields. Each day, we just hopped on the shuttle and went where the recommendation was for that day. Always reliable and efficient recommendations. Rick also picked us up and dropped us back at the railway station on our arrival and departure. In addition, we booked the shuttle for a day trip to see the 'Monkeys' at a very reasonable price. At all times, from our first correspondence with making our reservations to the time we left, we felt that nothing was too much trouble for the owners and staff at The Address Akakura. Can I also commend Rick and Kate on having picked some wonderful, happy staff for the 2019 ski season. A fantastic team guys!!
