The Akakura Central is a ski in/out facility- well almost 50 m away from the ‘main street’ of town. Myoko Kogen is described as a Japanese town with a ski run attached rather than a large scale ski resort. Fabulous value and the included meal was the best we had during our stay.

Loved this hotel. Location is superb both with access to snow-short walk and the town. The hotel is retro and therefore not modern. Very comfortable and good space. Breakfast was fantastic, English speaking staff went above and beyond to ensure your stay was pleasant. Olsen is blissful. Dinner in the hotel is amazing-totally worth it. I will be back. Staff will pick you up and drop you off at train station

All the staff at the front desk can speak English and are very helpful. Rooms are a mixture of western and traditional and all have a toilet and separate basin. The onsen's are great after a days skiing. If you aren't aiming for 5 star this place won't disappoint. The owner is very funny and interactive.

Leaving here today after a 6 night stay. Our family were here to celebrate a friends 50th birthday along with 30 other people. The hotel staff were always helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to assist us when my husband tore his medial ligament day one of the ski trip! They drove us to hospital, and sent an interpreter with us. Breakfast was included and quite good. We also had a birthday dinner catered by the hotel which was very good along with Karaoke. We stayed in a combo room which just fits 3 people, there is not a shower in this room type. The hotel is quite dated and old, but it is clean and you can’t beat the location. Thank you to the staff and Fred in particular 😀

Located very near the chair lift at Akakura Onsen, you can ski right back to the hotel. The property has a retro feel, fire place and all. What leaves the best impression of this place is the wonderful hospitality shown by the owners. Mr & Mrs Kitamura may not speak much English but their cheery smile just makes all guests feel so welcomed! If you are looking to have a great snow experience and the warmth of a family run hotel, this is the place for you!
