When we arrived at the train station, the boss was waiting for our arrival. The boss is warm and welcoming. The food was delicious. The room was cozy. We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. We will definitely return for our next coming ski trip.

Central Hotel is a great mid range hotel in a prime location - 30 m walk from the ski run and 5-10 mins walk (with skis) to the bus stop if you want to go visit the other resorts in the area. They have English speaking staff on the front desk to answer questions, the western room we had was... More

This was our first trip to Myoko and friends referred us to the Akakura Central, warning us it isn't the flashest hotel but gets top marks on all other fronts. Our party includes us parents, two grown kids and their partners. The tariff was reasonable. The combo western/Japanese rooms were large and comfortable, included a toilet but no shower. This... Have just spent 2 weeks at Central and we were very happy with our stay. This is a family run lodge which is very friendly and well run. We had a western room with a bathroom incl a shower which was actually a mistake for three reasons, in hindsight we realised we prefer futon / tatami to sleep on, the... More

The location of this hotel is great. Almost ski-in/ski-out when the snow is thick, and there is a ski lift just a few minutes walk. It is also a few minutes walk to the main street for shops and restaurant. There are two English-speaking staff so communication was not a problem. I stayed in a Japanese style room with toilet,... A very reasonably priced hotel in a fantastic location, you can ski right up to the dry room door and 50 meters away is a lift, walk down the hill 100m and you are in town will all the restaurants and bars. We had the best meal of our trip at the hotel it was a banquet of sushi smoked... More

I'm hesitant to write about this hotel/ski lodge as we'd like to keep it as our little secret. We've just rebooked to go back for the 3rd year in a row! The reason I brought my family here was that this is the area where I used to ski 35 years ago when I lived in Tokyo with my expat... More

Had a fantastic time here. A huge thank you to Mr and Mrs Kitamura, Dan, Fred, Emma, Jo and other staff on site. You made my stay here memorable and fun. The sashimi recommendation was great (churashi: you can order a pack the day before which sources the sashimi through a local restaurant). Mr Kitamura is a sake fan and... More

This was a somewhat eclectic experience for us. We found the place and booked online through the excellent myokokogen.net site which was straightforward and simple. The location was really great and overall we were happy with our stay. The owners are very friendly and both of them were keen to help out however they could. The rooms are tidy enough... More
