We went as a large group with people aged 1-55. It was a perfect location for everyone. The hotel manager speaks English and was extremely accommodating. Ski in, ski out. Rentals in the hotel. Onsen open 6:00am - 11pm. Comfortable rooms and bathrooms. A place to sit by the fireplace in the evening, have a drink and talk with friends....

Beautiful location. Great views of snow capped mountains and fresh powered ski slopes. Lots of areas for kids to sledge and make snow men etc... Good ski schools near hotel. There's a lovely traditional Japanese restaurant which apparently only opens on the weekend. There are couple of pizza places very close to hotel. There's also foodcourt like place in basement...

Spent 7 nights / 8 days at the Maderao Kogen Hotel with my wife and two sons aged 10 and 7. The hotel is fairly old, but well maintained and very comfortable. The rooms are small but were able to accommodate us all with 2 single beds and 2 couches that were permanently folded down to be single beds. Not...

Spent a week here with the family for a ski holiday. Purchased a package through an Australian travel company at a very reasonable price. The hotel itself is quite old and a little tired- has a very vintage feel to it! Rooms are quite small (as is the norm in Japan)- but comfortable enough and have everything you need. Ski...

A group of 25 of us stayed here for 4 nights. The rooms were good, supplied with yukatas and kettle, the beds comfi. Their buffet meals an eclectic mix of Japanese and Western dishes, so something for everybody, which was great. My favourite was the "coarse tea" which tasted like toasted barley tea...excellent. There is an onsen indoors and outdoors...

We loved our visit to Madarao. We didn't actually stay at Hotel Madarao but at their nearby hotel - Hotel Monaile. The Staff where very accommodating in both hotels as we used the free shuttle bus quite a bit to use the other hotels facilities! The Furasato course is a must for dinner! Torro went above and beyond to make...

We loved our visit to Madarao. We didn't actually stay at Hotel Madarao but at their nearby hotel - Hotel Monaile. However, our check-in was handled there. Their wonderful staff looked after our luggage until our rooms at our hotel were ready. Assisted us with our luggage and transfer to Hotel Monaile. We regularly dined at Hotel Madarao for dinner...

We spent 4 nights at Madorao Kogen Hotel ( 23rd to 26th Dec 2013 ) and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The resort is perfectly located close to the main slopes, bus stops and the small number of restaurants located nearby. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The rooms are small ( arent they all in Japan ) but this...

We stayed 3 nights at Madarao Kogen Hotel, from 26-29 Dec 2012. We enjoyed a very spacious room with a gorgeous view of the ski slopes. The hotel is well-located with the bus-stop for buses to Iiyama city barely 20 steps down the road, and a few interesting dining places within a 5-minute stroll. On the downside, there is no...
