Love its seaside location although a wee bit difficult to access by public transport, we enjoyed our 1 night stay at Kaiyu Notonosho. We took the Hokutetsu Express bus from Kanazawa Station, it's a 2hr ride one way costing JPY3,085 return ticket. There is no need to reserve a seat on the bus. Upon arrival at Wajima Bus Station, the...

Notonosho is a fine place to stay while visiting Wajima and its nearby attractions. The welcome and hospitality is genuine and pervasive with the entire staff, as was the service. Food was very good and the room large and comfortable. There are a few staff members who speak some English, so communication wasn't a problem. The location is a bit...

Can't beat the location, the hot spring spa or the traditional Japanese cuisine. No English spoken but their deep sense of hospitality spoke volumes. Just don't ask for something off their plan, they can't adapt. We were cycling along the beautiful Noto peninsula

We were there in late august 2014. We had taken the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Mairaba then another train to Kanazawa in the morning, picked up our rental car around 2PM and drove to Wajima\ Notonosho after stopping at two temples/shrines and a short drive on the beach (fun) at Chirihama. We arrived at around 6PM. Everybody was nice and...

What defines the Onsen / ryokan experience in my mind: a whiff of fresh tatami mat smell, an elegant interior, uncluttered by commercialism ,the fresh flower arrangements in corners, on coffee tables. In wajima the elegant blending of antique , but not fussy laquareware, with fine china, to add color and texture to the food.. Certainly the warmth of the...

If you like a nice Kaiseki after an Onsen, this is one of THE places to do it! at 28K yen per person per night, it is good value for money after you take into consideration the excellent dinner and breakfast. It is well worth the trip up from Kanazawa. We took the bus (2+ hrs) from Kanazawa station. Drop...

“First floor has some outdoor ryotemburo. , I prefer the2/3 floor traditional rooms Both bath for men great...hear good words on the panoramic one from my wife The area is rich in wonderful sea food, fresh oyster and crab being standouts . I might suggest tho for a first time to forgo the wonderful, but sophisticated even for Japanese Dinner and book room plus breakfast , Noto No Sho provided me with an excellent western breakfast with perfect eggs ,bacon ,ham ,salad , luscious fruits , handmade butter ,preserves and bread.... There is a simple outstanding sushi place in wajima I go for dinner occasionally .”
