Rooms are fairly old. Other reviews mention an air purifier to remove that smell but ours did not. Service level was acceptable but also impersonal. Not what we were used to in Awara. The baths were pretty decent but we waited until the last minute and were too late to book the family bath area. Entirely our fault there. The biggest disappointment though was the food. Pretty much everything had cooled down and was bland. I suppose thats the nature of buffet style food but even the miso soup wasnt warm enough to drink. The crab was well cooked and tasty but had no red crab miso or eggs. I actually thought that was just a normal feature of crab in the winter around Fukui but I guess not. Either way save your money and go elsewhere. I know we will.

I enjoyed the onsen and food here. For the onsen, as they mentioned, it is large with a variety of choice including both indoor and outdoor bath. There is also an onsen for foot, towel will be provided during certain period of the day. My package include dinner (set menu) and buffet breakfast. The food looks nice and are tasty. The room is spacious, however, it is a bit old and has a odour smell. Fortunately there is air-purifier in the room.

In the plan that we used, dinner and breakfast were both buffet-style. The buffet room was chaotic (lots of kids), but you are seated in a private room, so you can eat in peace. When we went, there was all-you-can-eat crab (depends on the season). Also freshly-made tempura, steak, nabe, all sorts of yummy things and dessert...Breakfast had all the usual foods you see in a Japanese-style breakfast (fish, miso soup, eggs), plus toast and yogurt. The baths are nice. The woman's bath has a big indoor bath and a sauna inside, and two big baths outside (one traditional Japanese one and one next to a small flower garden), and two hot individual baths.

This hotel is very old and outdated. Dirty carpet, bathroom facilities are old and not working properly. Staff is very nice and helpful, good breakfast. Wi-FI in a lobby only with very bad connection.
