My wife and I stayed one night at Guesthouse Runcini in early November and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We arrived slightly later than planned so it was already dark...the 1KM journey up the steep, narrow, unkept road from Ferentillo to Gabbio was a little daunting to say the least. Once we reached the top we were greeted by the ever-smiley...

My husband and I stay at this guesthouse end of Aug. Did a lttle research of this place and based on what read, we decided to book a one night stay here. What a pity !!! I would have love to stay for a week at least. The guesthouse is located up a hill away from the town of Ferentillo....

A truly soulful and inspiring place. Once we made the steep, white knuckle drive up to the guesthouse we were warmly greeted by Doda and Pier. Doda showed us to our mountainside charming cottage/home with awe-inspiring views of the Valnerina countryside. The rooms of the cottage have an abundance of warmth and character and you sense the presence of the...

We stayed here for just one night on 16th August. We arrived late, due to traffic and delayed flights, but were given the warmest welcome by our lovely hostess (and avid Joy Division fan!), Doda. Our apartment was perfect for our needs, very clean and well equipped. Doda provided freshly made cakes and a selection of other foods for breakfast...

We discovered Guesthouse Runcini on the internet and had high expectations judging from the information we got. It really IS that beautiful!! The view is breathtaking, the place full of history, the apartment very cosy with everything you need (comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen). From the guesthouse you can take beautiful walks. Some public footpaths start right...

I discovered the Guesthouse Runcini by chance and am absolutely thrilled to have done so. I wanted peace, a beautiful landscape, comfort and hospitality. I found all at the Guesthouse and spent 3 wonderful days there. My bedroom was spotless and the bed very comfortable; I particularly enjoyed the possibility of a fire in my sitting room. Doda was exceptionally...

From the second we stepped foot in out gorgeus appatrment, we knew we were in great hands. The location has a breathtaking view, high in the hills, silence is invading. Doda has answers to all our quests and her information on restaurants is spot on. Cleanliness is excellent, service impeccable. Very good value for money. There are no negative aspects....

We where staying only one night but we will definetly go back. The place is enchanting. An old and abandoned burough has been beatifully restored by the owners and has come to life again. Recently we spend a couple of wonderful days with Doda and Pier, in their wonderful 12-th burough in Umbria. This is really a place one should visit: perfectly quiet surroudings, a beautiful garden with splendid view of the valley. The burough splendidly restored by the landlord, an architect from Rome who started the restoration 20 yrs ago. Don't forget to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Runcini guesthouse, totally anti-seismic, is situated in an old medieval village, the Gabbio that overbears the Valnerina and the underlying community of Ferentillo. The units are at the beginning of this old village and the road that runs through it is part of its structure. The rooms are lodged internally of these completely reconstructed stone houses, maintaining the warmth and the history of the various elements with whom they were built and that have characterized them over the years. Casa Torre, Casa Dama and Casa Pietra are names that were given to the houses in order to mark the differences between one and the other. In each of the houses there is a space available including a distinctive well-equipped kitchen and places were one can comfortably relax while watching a movie. Each room has a private bathroom. The "stone" itself has generated the name and the colour that the rooms are decorated in. The space is equipped with characteristic items that give our guests the possibility to feel at home. The area around the houses has a nice terrace with a lawn and olives where one can enjoy the environment and immerse into nature. ... more   less
