Perfect Beach with perfect water for swiming. The view with the sea and the hills is magnificant. You can walk long distance on the beach. The food is very good . I will stay there when iam visit Japan again
Probs: Traditional japanese guesthouse with amazing hosts! Situated about 500m from the beach uphill. The whole place has more homelike feeling than hotel/guesthouse. Mr. Yamamoto (host) was very welcoming and helped us with everything. This guy knows everything about surroundings! Breakfast was really good and the dinner also! We has a western style room, which was ok. Western rooms has own bathrooms. I suggest trying japanese style rooms! Cons: Western rooms are a bit outdated, but they on the other hand fit perfect for the atmosphere of the place! Overall: Thumbs up for this place! Great value for your money! Mr. Yamamoto and his wife are superb! Thank you guys for great hospitality!
This pension is very appropriate for family trip. We went there with 2 young kids (2 years old and 2 week old infant). Yamamoto-san and his wife are very very welcome and Professional. Pension itself is in a very quiete place at 5min walk from the beach. We had opportunity to have dinner at the pension and the meal were very rich and tasty. Please experience it, it worth it.
This place is familly own.Owner is friendly, and helpful. We booked western room with private bath.Room is small but clean, you have there fridge small cups, and a kettle to boil the water.Bathroom is small, but this is a typical size for Japan. The only thing that is missing is small wardrobe, it‘s little bit problematic to keep all your clothes in backpack or suitcase all the time. We ate the breakfest there, it was very very tasty. After busy Tokio itwas a good place to relax and surf. If we will return to Japan we will stay here again.
My girlfriend booked here for a long weekend in Shimoda and it was wonderful. The hosts - a lovely couple who run the place themselves - were very welcoming and friendly. English is spoken here and the food is excellent - breakfast and dinner were delicious home cooked meals served in traditional japanese style. With dinner we tried the home-made plum wine (which cost extra) and it was excellent. We would happily return.
