I visited Shizuoka for work in July 2010 and stayed in this place for a whole week. As one of our coleagues pointed out "there's no space in the room to even change your mind" (and we stayed in small rooms before, but none were this bad)... The area it's in is quaint, and we were there during some local festivities, so we got to see the locals enhoying themselves playing music in the streets or dressed in the traditional costumes, but there really isn't much near the hotel (even though we did manage to find a few decent restaurants) and this Hotel itself is well bellow standards. I was in Japan for 2 months spending each week in a different city, and as much as I loved the country, and as much as I enjoyed being there, this is definately on the top 3 worst hotels I've ever stayed in.
