Ever wondered what it feels like to experience a breeze on a hot summers night around a fire with the jackal's cry as the last colour drains from the endless landscape? Far away from towns and cities is a tranquil farmhouse at the foot of the Erongo mountains. Many a traveler has visited to escape the crowds, taking the road less travelled to experience the rustic living of a farm in Africa
we stayed at camp petite- we visited erongo rocks campsite 10 times already for the past few years- one of the BEST neat campsites in Namibia- ideal location if you want to test all your camping equipment- solar- etc. Didi and Terry are your hosts and very competent. ownership is the key word at erongo rocks campsite- Didi's designs on campsites are a true masterpiece. a must visit place if you plan a trip to Namibia in the Omaruru area. HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE

Erongo Rocks is a place where you can totally switch off and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Erongo mountains. We stayed at Dik Dik campsite, very private, great facilities and loved the open air shower. We enjoyed the trails and viewpoints and Didi shared his passion and knowledge of the rock paintings with us, well worth seeing. The silence and stars will stay with us until our next visit. Thank you for creating such a wonderful place.

This is now our favourite campsite in Namibia! We were given a wonderful welcome, and our campsite was excellent. It had a 360 degree view over the surrounding countryside, was beautifully maintained and we saw amazing birds and animals from our camp. There are really good, clearly marked hiking trails and we did a guided walk to some rocks with beautiful San paintings on them. John, our guide, told us a lot about the art, and also the countryside we were walking through. The owners are great, very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

We camp a lot, all over Namibia and parts of Southern Africa. And after this weekend, I think that we found one of our most favourite campsites. Our Camp Dik Dik was private, quiet, far away from other campers, shady with boulders and trees and shade netting. Didi and Terry thought of everything in the little details when they designed this camp, neat and well maintained but ensured that the site is still very wild and self sustaining with own bucket showers. The booking process was easy and smooth and we received all directions and instructions timeously. We are not ordinary campers and often prefer camping wild to avoid other rowdy campers with their dogs and music or camp sites that are just concrete and not very natural, but Erongo Rocks provides that nature sanctuary we all crave to explore. Great well marked hiking and biking trails, sundowners with endless vista's of the Brandberg, great for birding, imposing boulders and for two nights and three days we felt like we had a piece of the natural world just for the two of us as we explored by foot and mountain bike. Oh and the cold beer and burgers for lunch at Ai Aiba, the neighboring farm was a great tip. We can't wait to come back to this sanctuary!

It is difficult to write a glorifying review to a place that already has so many full 5 stars reviews. We have stayed 2 nights in the farmhouse, and were very sorry that we have not booked more nights. It was a superb way to end our 6 weeks Namibia trip (not our first in Namibia). For most, a Namibia vacation means lots of driving around, trying to see all the amazing and varied areas. Erongo Rocks, should be a place where you take a few days (maybe the last days of the trip, as it is only 3.5 hours away from the airport), to wind down and really enjoy the pure nature of a vacation. One can spend days on the farm hiking in nature, observing wildlife (and the prolific bird life), and step back in time to the reality of Southern African farmhouses. The farmhouse is rustic but fully equipped for cooking and BBQ'ing (braai), the garden around it is magical and one can easily be tempted to stay put. For those that prefer other meal options, the nearby lodge, Ai-Aiba, is minutes away, and offers good dining options and full bar. The lodge is very accommodating to the guests of the farm, and allowed us to use their swimming pool. While hiking on the farm, we had a chance to see a couple of the camping sites, which looked absolutely superb. In short: Erongo Rocks is a "must". Thanks Terry and Didi for the great hospitality. We will meet again!

You really understand our concept and we appreciate that you took the time to write about your experience, giving others a great insight into what they too can experience here on our nature farm. Such a great camp!! It was very natural and quiet. Even though it was kept natural there were smart details, that give you comfort (for cooking, showering, resting). We loved it! Sunset at the view point „Summit“ was a highlight for us. Thanks a lot!!

Terry & Didi have created a paradise in the desert.
Campsites are impeccably managed and tastefully designed. You can see the love and care they put into every corner of the campsite.
Every night you will swim in the Milky Way. Every day you will enjoy complete solitude and privacy. The campsites are more than a mile apart.
Each site is so unique! We absolutely fell in love with camp Dik-Dik (the name of a tiny antelope). You will see some of these really tiny antelopes come and drink from the basin Terry & Didi arranged for animals and birds.
Tip: A wildlife tour with Didi is an absolute MUST! This guy is the closest you will come to Crocodile Dundee :)
Keep it all clean guys! Leave it how you found it.

What a pleasure to arrive at Erongo Farmhouse's spotless Wild campsite, and just sit in awe of the natural beauty surrounding us while enjoying a crackling fire and the soothing silence around us.
We could not get enough of the huge boulders that made up our "house" for 2 nights, and the friendly birds that came to visit.
My dog loved his boulder playground, and it was great to find a camping spot where he was welcomed.
We felt like kids in a candy store with all the hiking trails to choose from, and definitely need to go back to explore the areas our short weekend did not give us time for.
Terry was so accommodating when we had to reschedule our weekend because of work commitments, and her warm and welcoming manner immediately made us feel at home.
Ive only been gone for a day, but I miss it already.

Hello Nina, Thank you so so much for this wonderful review. It makes us so happy to hear that you had such a great time with us! It was so impressive to see you marching down the river beds with your heavy back packs on training for the Fish in May. We wish you all the best for that and hope to see you and your dog back here again one day soon! Kind Regards Terry & Didi

We (family of 5 adults and 1 toddler) had a wonderful stay at Erongo Farmhouse. The owners went out of their way to make it memorable for us! The booking and communication with Terry and Didi was easy and fast! The vintage style farm house accommodation reminded my parents of their childhood days on farms in Namibia. It is very well furnished with everything needed when doing self-catering stays, incl enough crockery & cutlery, a gas stove and big fridge and freezer. The 'stoep' lends itself for long white wine infused, lazy afternoons and the braai facilities then beckon you over to grill delicious Namibian game meat! There is a seperate area to make a fire just to sit around and visit ('Guck-Feuer'). The bedrooms have very comfortable beds and linen. A 'donkey' heating System supplies hot water to revive the exercise sore muscles. We also enjoyed a dip in the farm style swimming pool! The landscapes are breath-taking and one can cycle and run, hike and walk to your heart's content! The camp sites look stunning too! I will def return to camp here as well!
