Erongo Plateau Camp is situated in the heart of the majestic Erongo mountain range near Omaruru. This is the gate to Damaraland where you find the famous desert elephants or ancient Himba tribe in Kaokoveld. It is also within comfortable traveling distance to Swakopmund, Hentiesbay, Twyfelfontein, Etosha or even the capital city Windhoek. The camping ground is small and secluded, the perfect place to relax and de-stress. Visits should sooth the soul and relax the mind. Great care has been taken to ensure that our sites provide for privacy. The camping site has spotlessly clean showers (hot & cold) and toilets. You can buy wood at the camp. There are fireplaces, shade netting and every site has its own water tap. We have no power supply, no swimming pool and no shop. You should therefore bring your own camping equipment and food.

I camped here for 3 nights in November 2020 - This was THE CLEANEST campsite I have ever seen. We walk around a lot of places at night with a UV torch looking for scorpions to photograph, and we mostly see discarded cigarette butts, pieces of toilet paper and plastic shining back, there was NONE of those here! The bathrooms were SPOTLESS, the campsite fireplaces so CLEAN we thought we were the first to make use of them! There is a waterhole lit by a spotlight visible from the campsite, where we saw Dik-dik, Kudu, Mountain Zebra, Duiker antelope, Steenbok and even got lucky to see a LEOPARD drinking water one evening (thanks to the zebras who gave it away!). The hiking trails are exceptionally great, and visibly a LOT of work went into the trails to make them easy to follow and not get lost in the lush bush around. The camp attendant, Absalom, is a TRUE hard worker and it shows that he loves keeping his campsite in a spotless condition. He made sure we ALWAYS had hot water and was willing to help with anything. We got STUNNING bird photos as well, and quite a few endemic birds are around the area. Another pleasant surprise was the fact that one of the campsites is wheel-chair friendly, which is GREAT! I would really recommend this area, both because of the safety, the view, and the fauna and flora found there. Thank you, you truly care about the environment, and it shows!

If you are looking for peace, this is the camp to go. From your campsite, on top of a hill, you look over the valley at the sunset. The bathrooms are very clean, with hot water. Thanks Apselon for making the fire.

Although there are only 3 camping spots, the name sign and later the carer welcomed us to a lovely roomy camping place with fantastic view. It was ever so quiet at the site despite hanging neighbours at fair distance. Good price as well!

Spent a night camping under a huge sky! Camp site Zebra was great with shade in late afternoon. On arrival we were welcomed by Elia and escorted to our site. Spotlessly clean an well organized. Ablutions were immaculately clean. Fantastic hot water shower followed by a blazing hard wood camp fire! Took the the mountain trail early the next morning for a vigorous 6 km walk. A peaceful paradise in the bush! Thank-you as well foe allowing us to bring our dog - a memorable time was had by all.

The camp sites are very well looked after very clean always warm water for showering no matter the time of day. The staff is very friendly. The view is out of this world. The access road I wouldn't suggest doing with a small car very bad bumps and big rocks but do able with a rental car.
