The most amazing location tucked between the rocks, although easy to get to from Omararu. Great pool, delicious food, amazing breakfast and comfortable rooms. The guided sundowner walk was brilliant, and the self guided walk to see rock paintings was perfect.
The lodge is set in an amazing scenery in the middle of nowhere in the Erongo mountains. You can best appreciate the landscape by joining the sundowner walk with the guide (included in our rate) up on the boulders in front of the lodge. The view from there is just breathtaking. The rooms are nice and comfortable, though a fridge could have been a nice treat. The staff was welcoming but seemed a bit disorganized when it came to serve a room full of people. Food was very good, both at dinner and breakfast. I would surely recommend it.
fantastic location, fantastic welcome, fantastic facilities amazing scenery Just don't miss this place and the bushman paintings if you go to Namibia. It is really unmissable The staff and the guide (Deon) really made the difference
We had a great stay. Greatest view of our Namibia trip, very nice activities with a very knowledgeable guide (Gift), food was good, nice rooms. Very nice location in the Erongo mountains with different animals close by. We can fully recommend this location.
Driving up to Ai Aiba after a long day with dirt roads was such a breath of fresh air. It is charming and beautiful. It feels intimate and private and welcoming straight away, and the landscape is dynamic and gorgeous. The staff were incredibly kind. The food was delicious, the sundowner hike with drinks on the mountain was fun and stunning. The room is charming, well equipped, and comfortable. We were told by our agent that there isn't too much to do and one night would be enough but honestly we were so sad to wake up and leave early--we wanted to enjoy a leisurely day to reset and recharge with a walk around, some pool time, a good book, great food, and kind people. Strongly recommend if you want a nice place to reset!
The lodge is a beauty and the surroundings are fascinating. This is not a part of the most visited tourist routes, so it feels very relaxing. You could just sit in front of your room or the main building and enjoy the view, complete with the heads of the giraffes moving in slow motion above the bush and the boulders. The food and the service was excellent. The espresso machine in the room was a welcome touch, allowing the early morning coffee luxury in the privacy of your own terrace. I did the early morning walk, it was lovely though the guide could have walked a little slower, to allow time for some photography, but this is far from a complaint. I loved every moment at Ai Aiba!
First of all: The landscape is breathtaking, but I cannot take this into consideration for reviewing the accommodation. The Nature Drive fur Sundowner (through the mentioned landscape) was a highlight though. The food is good to very good, but clearly staff was unorganised when fully booked (e.g. we did not get a startet). The rooms are good, but the dark paint on the wall is depressing and makes the room feel tiny. The mattresses need an urgent (!) change. Service was overall very welcoming and friendly. I would actually not rate the experience "average" (3 dots), but rather "good" (not very good, 4 dots, though)
It is stunning. The room was super comfortable, the food and staff were fantastic and my favourite part of the experience was a nature drive with our guide, Dion. He was knowledgeable and learning about the history of the region and see the rock paintings was incredible. It was magical and I would go back in a heart beat
This is a beautiful Lodge. The staff is very friendly and always very helpful. The rooms are nice and clean. One suggestion, maybe a bar fridge in the room. We went on a sundowner walk with Emanual. Stunning. The food was good. Swimming pool also very clean. From the entertainment center and the pool, you have a nice view over the waterhole.
The hotel is in a wonderful location surrounded by granite boulders but with an open view. We stayed here for one night and we did enjoy everything. The sundowner ride including the visit of some rock paintings was very interesting and we also managed to see some animals.
