My wife and I had a great experience at Owl’s Nest. We stayed in a “Nano,” a small one bedroom tiny house, which was perfect for two nights. We had two lessons a day, with the pro, Carter White, who might be the best coach my wife and I have worked with in any sport. He is a great, and patient, teacher. We also had a lunch and two dinners at the Panorama restaurant, which was also very good. Overall a great two day visit. Highly recommended for beginner golfers!

We played on a warm early fall afternoon with friends. The course is immaculate, the staff friendly and helpful, the clubhouse restaurant was welcoming and the food was very good. Hint: this is a challenging golf course...choose a tee commensurate with your level of play. I’m a 19 plus handicap and found the yellow tees to be right for me. Ask the staff if you have questions. Very knowledgeable. Hint: the golf course restaurant was set with beautiful Mountain View’s, drinks were generous, service excellent. Try the smoked scallop chowder...WOW! Prices moderate. Sunset views toward the end of the day. On other occasions, we’ve stayed in rental units which were very nice.

We were a large group of nearly 50 people in the restaurant and could have overwhelmed the kitchen and the wait staff who responded very well. Hors d'oevres were plentiful and delicious. The staff broke the group into sections to keep order in the kitchen and get guests served effectively. And the chef and kitchen crew turned out well-prepared meals we agreed were done perfectly despite the numbers wanting to be fed in a relatively short time. The "Nest" sits at the top of the ridge with windows facing west to the setting sun. Parking is easy just steps from the entrance.

Beautiful and difficult course with wonderful views of the White Mountains. Staff say it's the best public course in the area. They also rent cute little houses for golf vacationers within walking distance to the golf course.

I have played "The Nest" since it first opened more than 10 years ago. We played a round yesterday and once again the course was in terrific shape. Never any complaints on that front. However a few observations since the new ownership came in a couple of years ago, and started building "stay and play" housing among other improvements. When we arrived at about 9:00 AM we headed to the pro shop to pay our green fee. The young man working at the time was less than cordial. No pleasant greeting, just a matter of fact process of processing our payments and sending us on our way. We are all seniors, and I asked if there was any discount from the lofty weekday fee of $81.00 (includes cart), and we were told there is no senior discount. I would have to guess that 90% + of the courses today offer some type of senior discount for Monday-Thursday play. Very disappointing that Owls Nest has not seen fit to offer some type of a break for senior players.
