We have just returned from 5 fantastic days at the Stoke Gabriel Lodgings. We can only endorse what everyone else has said about this fabulous bed and breakfast. We were fortunate to have a room at the front with a balcony and the view is sensational. David and Helen are great hosts and always willing to assist and offer a...

We booked here on the recommendation of a friend and we weren't disappointed. Helen and David's warmth and friendliness were matched by the outstanding accommodation and breakfasts. They have a wealth of knowledge about the area that made planning our time a breeze. It is worth booking a room on the front with spectacular views if you can but all...

This lived up to the 5 stars and more. From the personal touch of an acknowledgement letter of booking, to the greeting of Devon cream tea when we arrived, Helen and David made us feel as if we were family friends on a visit. The rooms are superb, the breakfast - gutbusting excellence. The house is to die for and...

Just back from our second stay with Helen and David and once again we had a fantastic time. This time, we were lucky enough to have a front facing room with fabulous views of the river - if you can get one, highly recommended but really, all the rooms are lovely. A really well run guest house, thank you again!

Beautiful village location with the lovely 'South Hams' close by. Stoke Gabriel can easily be missed in a search for a few days in Devon. We've normally travelled a bit further afield into the Dartmouth, Salcombe , Kingsbridge area but were swayed by the appeal of 'Stoke Gabriel Lodgings' and its elevated position with glimpses of the river Dart on...

What a fantastic B&B On arriving greeted by David our host, a quick tour of the premises, Wow a purpose built B&B and entering the front door greeted by an oak staircase to taking you up to the accommodation level, the standard of this build is amazing and needs to be seen to be believed for any B&B. Little extras...

We stayed here as a treat to ourselves for a couple of nights, summer 2014. It was well worth it. The house is beautiful, rooms are very spacious and have everything you need. They make you feel welcome from the moment you park your car, nothing is too much trouble. They are keen to make your stay as relaxing and...

Wow, what a brilliant B & B. Fantastic location, wonderful views and luxurious accommodation. Helen and David were perfect hosts, most helpful and nothing was to much trouble. A shame there isn't a 6 star rating as they would surely qualify.

We booked our parents in, and from reservation to departure the service was first class. In addition the accommodation was beautiful, high quality finish, with fantastic detail - loved the bedding and towels. David does a plentiful well cooked, large variety breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. The views are outstanding to the river and short walk to the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Stunning modern architecture, bright open living spaces and incredible views are the hallmarks of Stoke Gabriel Lodgings, a Wolsey Lodge luxury bed and breakfast (B&B) that is quite distinctly different. Set high above the River Dart just outside the quintessentially English village of Stoke Gabriel, near Totnes in Devon, the house was completed in 2010 and has been designed to take full advantage of its elevated location deep in the Devon countryside. On arrival in Stoke Gabriel you will be warmly greeted by your hosts David and Helen and offered a classic Devon cream tea and a chance to take in your rather special surroundings. The luxury B&B guest accommodation features rooms that are spacious and lavishly furnished with comfortable seating areas, televisions and delicious offerings on tea trays. The en-suite bathrooms are equally well thought out and designed complete with wet shower areas and heated towel rails for added comfort. Patio doors open to your own private balcony overlooking the garden and Devon countryside – a perfectly quiet retreat to enjoy the peaceful Stoke Gabriel location. Oak floors and furniture of the guest living and dining rooms reflect the contemporary light and airy ambiance whilst outside the newly planted garden landscape is best enjoyed from the large terrace or conservatory. Breakfast offers an array of cooked delights whilst dinner can be taken at one of the many excellent local pubs and restaurants. Your Hosts: As hoteliers for over 30 years, David and Helen Littlefair know exactly what their B&B guests expect and, together with their three grown-up daughters have created a lovely family home to share. Holidaying in Stoke Gabriel for many years before building a home here, their intimate knowledge of the best places to visit are eagerly shared with guests staying at their rather special, luxury accommodation. The Location: Stoke Gabriel Lodgings is located in Stoke Gabriel, near Totnes in Devon. National Trust and English Heritage properties as well as the South Devon Coastal Path, beaches galore and the diversely interesting towns of Brixham, Dartmouth, Totnes, Paignton and Torquay are all within reach. Above all, why not make this luxury bed and breakfast accommodation your base for exploring the wild open splendour of Dartmoor, perfect for walking and cycling and so much more.
