We are in Tuscany, in the heart of the green Maremma region: the " Rifugio da Giulia " hotel is located in the town of Paganico. The structure, recovered from an old coal depot, is constructed using traditional Tuscan materials ( the stone, bricks, lime and wood ) to transmit the welcoming warmth of a country house.

I went to Rifugio da Giulia for a couple of days. The idea was to find a suitable place for me, my wife and our three-year-old daughter. A very good idea, the place offers the possibility of spending a day in the pool, in a very peaceful climate, which offers shelter from the sun. You can find a swimming pool, a small play area for children and it is also possible to stay overnight. Very friendly staff, everything is very organized also to provide moments of entertainment in the pool. There is a small kiosk that offers a decent choice for aperitifs, lunches or snacks and in general the price is right for the service you receive. Not bad to find such a place in the Tuscan Maremma, a valid alternative to the sea. I will definitely return

This hotel was ideally placed for our cycling trip along the GTM, being about 80km from Massa Marittima. The hotel gave us a good welcome and we were able to lock the bikes away in a garage. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we had a decent breakfast.
There is both a restaurant and a bar next door

Review regarding the swimming pool: beautiful place, shame about the lack of courtesy of the lady who threatened us with various local health sanctions for this or that. Mandatory cap even if you are shaved (you have to be bald, then if you have a meter of beard it doesn't matter) and if you don't have it you have to rent it from them at unlikely prices, high costs in general, if you leave half a second in + drinks/food they immediately move on to clear the table. The lady made a gratuitous insult to us in front of everyone because perhaps a threat could have loomed that could be sanctioned with X thousand euros from the local health authority, despite our repeated apologies. The faces of the other customers spoke for themselves, there's nothing else to say. Next to the children's area there is a fairly deep and unprotected ditch, perhaps the local health authority won't look at that until someone falls into it... Too bad, nice place and close to home, but we won't be back for sure.

Quick welcome and check in. The room is actually a small apartment equipped with all comforts, very spacious with living room, kitchenette which I didn't use and bathroom. It's a shame not to have used the swimming pool given the autumn season. The breakfast is quite varied

Excellent stay in Tuscany at this lovely accommodation. Family of four including a 15 and 18 year old. We were very well looked after, room comfortable and well equipped, fridge and basic kitchen really good for keeping water cool, storing fruit, etc. Lovely outdoor area including pool, plenty of beds, table tennis and volleyball court (which we used for badminton). Good value room rate included breakfast which had something for everyone and was of a high standard every day. Everyone was helpful, friendly and efficient but we must especially thank Riccardo who could not have been more helpful when we were trying to print off our ticket voucher for the Uffizi and his local restaurant recommendation, and phone call to reserve a table for us, ensured a delicious meal for our last night. We stayed a week after some touring and it was the perfect relaxing spot - but we also had a great time exploring the countryside around and had a couple days at the lovely coast too.

It was a nice surprise to discover this structure, well managed with friendly but professional approach. Excellent level of comfort, clean and food. Swim pool and surround garden with volley playground included. The main value of this place is of course given by the owners (nice suggestions for restaurants, shopping and tours). Special thanks to Riccardo and Andrea!

We spent 3 days in "Rifugio da Giulia" and liked it very much. The room was nice and clean. The Hotel Team led by Riccardo was very friendly and helpful. From Paganico you can start a lot of nice tours to beutiful places in Tuscany (e.g. Castiglione della Pescaia, Montalcino, etc). Also we liked a lot the outside area with the nice Swimming-pool, table Tennis, Volleyball court, etc. All in all, we felt very comfortable in the "Rifugio".

I have been here for 4 days, for working purposes and this hotel offers everything a tired person may need. Decent breakfast, cosy rooms, and a very friendly and helpful owner! The only negative is the rooms are not soundproof so a lot of noice can come in.

A beautiful accommodation. Don't worry about the road, you won't hear it from the B&B. We enjoyed our beautiful big room, so nice decorated. The garden with tabletennis, volleyball and swimming pool was perfect, also because of the pool bar where they serve lunch like cheeseburgers, pasta etc.
Only one thing we disliked: the breakfast is served in the basement. If you have such a beautiful garden and terrace, why no breakfast outside?
