Stayed here many time.Very clean good rooms and showers, right next to river, lovely views across to Laos and watching the constant river traffic. Two good places to eat within a few minutes walk. The town itself has lost a bit of sparkle since they opened the new bridge as everything and everybody crossed over by long tail boat or on the truck ferrys,sad...

I and my friend had a nice stayed here. The hotel located in the center of attraction near the market, bus station and not too far to the slow boat transferring to Luang-Prabang. There's a nice view of Khong river which you can enjoy your stay at your mini balcony. Staffs really friendly and helpfully.

Not a bad place. Clean, comfy and reasonably priced (after some negotiation). The verandah of the room is well placed for a view across the river into Laos. It's a shame the town has lined the road front with tacky multicoloured party lights. Otherwise I'd be a great evening view of the town across the river. Be warned though. Lao...

We stayed one night on our way to Phu Chi Fah. The location was lovely, as we booked a room with a river view. The price for us was OK buy we definitely would not have paid more for it. Other than that I would say there was nothing extraordinary. The room was clean and the staff were nice enough,...

Breakfast for an added 150 Baht ($5) explains without hyperbole the outrageous nature of this hotel. As it is apparently useful to travelers going into Laos, they'll happily make their escape from the grim confines of this overpriced and most inappropriately uncomfortable accommodation. Hairs, stairs, and an unhelpful staff.

We only stayed one night prior to crossing over to Laos. It was a great location for this purpose and close to many places to eat and 7-11. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We had a double fan room and a triple fan room. These rooms were clean and basic, but many cob webs and insects (ants on...

We stayed here in a twin room for a couple of nights. Overall it's clean but maintenance should be done for the facilities. The men's bathrooms and toilets were out of order and the other bathrooms had showers that were not attached to anything and didn't work properly. The staff wasn't very friendly either and half of the time we...

We spent one night there on our way to Laos. Hotel was small but clean, room basic but confortable and clean. We had a nice terrace overlooking the Mekong river and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset. The owner was very kind and arranged a cheap transfer to the border for us.

We stayed here for one night in order to cross to laos the next day. The place is clean and all you need. It's family owned and they are very friendly and helpful. It's a cute hotel with river view. Has a restaurant on the property ( didn't get a chance to try it). Close to Border crossing ( 20...

I like to travel inexpensively, and usually without frills. But life is too short for non-air-conditioned rooms, so, I chose The River House, which, at $28 for the night, was expensive by local standards, but worth the investment. It's a simple, clean, comfortable place if you want a bit of privacy and can afford to pay a little bit more....
