Stayed there at the beginning of the March, 2015 together with friend and family without prior booking(walk-in). Staff is courteous enough to offer their service even thought with language barrier (limited English understanding). There is also fine Japanese restaurant inside the hotel offer a good dinner and breakfast meal. But unfortunately, we need to rush to train station and not...

I'm a bit surprised by the low rating this hotel is getting. Okay, Iga Ueno is a small, historical city and I thought this hotel was perfect for this class of city. First, the rooms are dated, but nothing is broken. This is Japan, so everything is perfectly clean, beds were comfy and I got a perfectly warm shower. I...

We arrived at the hotel way earlier than the usual check in time of 3 pm but was allowed to check in and leave our bags in the room before we set out to explore the city. The room was simple and had a small fridge and an air conditioning unit that didn't work too well so we slept with...

We were originally going to stay for one night at this hotel but had to rearrange our plans as we were travelling from Tokyo which meant by the time we arrived in the Iga, it would be very late in the night. Originally booked for one night, I had to email the hotel for an extended stay. I received great...

This hotel is right in the middle of the town and is the perfect location for the Iga Ninja Festa. Of all the larger western-style hotels in Iga, I believe this is the most central one. They allow check in at noon and check out at noon, which was great as we arrived at lunchtime on a Saturday and could...

A standard Japanese business hotel, with the usual facilities and comfort level. Compared to other business hotels we've stayed in at the Ueno City Hotel the room was somewhat bigger, and there was wifi in the room. Location is ok, not to far from the castle and other attractions, and main shopping and restaurants. There is also quite a good...

“There are coin operated washing machine and drink machine located at top floor, so if you need to do your laundry. Please opt for higher floor to ease movement.”

“Iga Ueno is a very cute and small but due to this, there are loud train noises in the morning. Not something you can escape from regardless of where you stay in that town. By 10pm, a lullaby is played in public speakers as a goodnight gesture to the residents of the town, this is not played by the hotel. It generally is their ‘town’ thing.”
